    The biggest traitors are the Nobel Prize winning scientists and NAS members who betrayed the basic principles of science and personal liberty of fellow citizens to “save the world from nuclear annihilation” in 1945 by hiding from the public “powers beyond the dreams of scientific fiction“ that Aston promised humanity in the last paragraph of his Nobel Lecture on 12 DEC 1922.

    It would be far better to have an open debate about scientific evidence (recorded in atomic rest masses) for NEUTRON REPULSION than to try to settle differences with messages of hatred or violence.

    Brilliant (although a wee bit salty). Trail of tears from Arkansas to DC. Nevertheless, I hope she has “protection”. I saw it flash by on Breitbart, but now everyone there is whining about who’s endorsing whom and some backroom shenanigans going on. That’s why they call it politics.

    Superb rant. The “vote for me because I am a Woman” isn’t going over well after 8 years of the Affirmative Action Communist Organizer occupant of the White House.

    Some here had been mentioning a new party is needed since all we have now is Quigley’s Uni-party.

    Here is a bit of history I have not had a chance to checkout by Kevin Sherlock. However it goes with my feeling that the Civil War was stirred up from the outside by the Europeans. Remember the European bankers were heavily invested in the manufacturing of the north. Actually the North manufacturing and South Agriculture/raw material looks to me like a replay of the British Empire’s view point of their colonies.

    Those who don’t know history are condemned to repeat it.

    Mitch McConnell’s collaboration with Democrats and attacks on Mr. Trump and dissidents in his own party are a bad rerun of a truly terrible event in history.

    The Wayback machine takes us to 1850.
    Zachary Taylor was president. Kentucky Whig Henry Clay, and Daniel Webster and John Calhoun were considered the elder statesmen in the Senate. Clay ran for president repeatedly and lost.
    Calhoun, a South Carolina Democrat, pushed for the extension of slavery.
    Webster, a Massachusetts Whig, was considered a great orator. He too wanted to be president and failed. Kinda like Mitt Romney.
    The great divisive issue of the day was slavery. Calhoun threatened slave states would secede if the nation didn’t get more friendly to slavery. The Democrats were the majority party in the Senate and House, and were proslavery.
    The Whigs were split on slavery. President Taylor, a Kentuckian, owned slaves. So did many Southern Whigs. Whigs like Abraham Lincoln and William Seward opposed slavery.
    Clay and Daniel Webster plotted to sell out on the slavery issue because of Calhoun’s threats of secession. Clay was an open “compromiser” with the majority Democrats. Webster was even worse. He was apparently a quiet traitor who had secretly given away territory that was rightfully Maine’s to the British who owned New Brunswick when he was Secretary of State in the Tyler Administration.
    Clay and Webster fashioned a bill that would open California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico to slavery. They would include a fugitive slave act which made criminals out of people who helped runaway slaves. They won the support of most Democrats for this plan.
    Calhoun opposed it because it wasn’t proslavery enough. But he died in the spring of 1850. So it looked like the sellout to the slavery lobby and the Democrats would become law.
    They reckoned without Zachary Taylor. Taylor, a war hero who helped win the land we took and then bought from Mexico after the Mexican War, was capable of seeing the nation as a whole. He came to realize that slavery was wrong, and looked for ways to limit it. He was too much of a patriot to be a good party man. Like Mr. Trump.
    Taylor urged the gold rushers and Spanish dons of California to seek statehood. He gave the same advice to the Spaniards and Mexicans of New Mexico who had signed a loyalty oath when American forces took the land from the Mexicans. (This angered the holier-than-thou New Englanders who hated Catholics.) Both proposed states would be free states, which would mean there would be more free states than slave states and the Senate could have a free state majority.
    Taylor put a lid on the Mormons of the Utah Territory because he considered them polygamist degenerates. Like the polygamist fugitives whose descendant was MItt Romney.
    At Seward’s urging, Taylor quietly studied buying the slaves their freedom with federal money, and making them sharecroppers in the South or homesteaders in the West or perhaps the pioneers of an American canal zone in Central America.
    Meanwhile Taylor scuttled two Southern armed attempts to seize Cuba from Spain and continue to run it as a slave colony. He refused to bail out Texas bond funds, because he believed the bond speculators should eat their losses, not the American people. (So unlike Bushes, Clintons, Romney, and Obama.) And he sent troops to New Mexico with orders to shoot Texans who were trying to force the land into the Lone Star State. The Texans gave way.
    Taylor’s men got a deal with Nicaragua’s leaders for a canal, and they got a deal with the leaders of Colombia (which owned Panama) to build a railroad across Panama to shorten the time it took to go to California. These acts kept the British at bay, and induced them to sign a treaty binding them not to try to build a canal without American partnership. Taylor prepared for the time Americans could build a mightier navy than that of the British Empire.
    Zachary Taylor opposed Clay and Webster on the proposed fugitive slave act. He also thought it was un-American for his party leaders to be kowtowing to the secessionists. Taylor threatened members of Congress to their faces he would have them hanged if they seceded and he caught them in armed rebellion.
    So Clay like McConnell openly attacked Taylor and Webster quietly attacked Taylor. So did the cowardly vice-president Millard Fillmore, another sell-out Whig. Fillmore was a porky version of Paul Ryan, the House Speaker who looks like Pee Wee Herman or Eddie Munster, take your pick.
    Taylor defied them and the Democrats. Some antislavery Democrats rallied to Taylor, as did the antislavery men and Unionists in the Whig Party. Taylor intended to veto Clay’s and Webster’s “compromise” legislation on slavery.
    But then Taylor and his key advisors all sickened on or about the 4th of July of 1850. Taylor died days later. Taylor’s widow suspected he was poisoned, and in the late 1900s there would be an inquest into this possibility. Many bond speculators made money on Taylor’s death because Fillmore, who succeeded Taylor, bailed them out. Fillmore was an insider. Unlike Zachary Taylor. Or Donald Trump.

    Illinois Democrat senator Stephen Douglas, along with Clay and Webster, enacted the proslavery Compromise of 1850, with a fugitive slave law attached. Fillmore signed into law each of the bills that made up the “compromise.”

    They (and polygamist leader Brigham Young) danced on Zachary Taylor’s grave. And they gave secessionists 10 years to get ready for a civil war. Only Douglas would later repent. Bring ‘em in Young, who laid claim to 27 wives (but who’s counting?) and led followers like the polygamist ancestors of Mitt Romney, would even declare falsely and hatefully Taylor was in Hell. Young would later okay a massacre of 120 people traveling through Utah, which took place 9/11/1857.

    Fillmore rewarded Webster by making him Secretary of State. Webster was suspected of secretly altering our copy of Taylor’s treaty with the British to give the British more concessions. It would fall to Abraham Lincoln and William Seward to reverse this treachery.

    By bowing to the slaveholder lobby (mostly Democrats), Clay helped make the Fugitive Slave Act and other pro-slavery items of the Compromise of 1850 the law of the land. The slaveholder lobby now knew all they had to do to get their way was to threaten to secede.

    The Fugitive Slave Act brought a new vicious side of slavery into the free states. Many Northerners, previously neutral on the other relic of barbarism, seethed at seeing white trash bounty hunters dragging escaped slaves and free blacks in their towns into court before judges who sentenced them to the slave pens and the cotton and cane fields of the South.
    The nation was on a downward spiral to armed conflict.     Taylor admirers Abraham Lincoln, William Seward, U.S. Grant, and William T. Sherman had to clean up the mess. The cost was 620,000 dead, hundreds of thousands maimed, hundreds of thousands of refugees, and more than a century of racial hatred.

    Outsider Zachary Taylor’s attempt to solve slavery without bloodshed was the act of an adult and a patriot, not a politician. Zachary Taylor’s boldness is a good example for outsider Donald Trump to follow. Where Mr. Trump can profit from Zachary Taylor’s miscue in allowing an insider to be his running mate will come in the second half of this topic. Short summary? Picking an insider to mollify GOPers could make Mr. Trump a target of assassins. Taylor died in office, some say with help of those who sttod to make money from his demise. I have talked with one of the figures in the Taylor exhumation of 1991 — and he is adamant in saying evil men who wanted Taylor dead had him poisoned so an insider could become president and be their whore….

    Seventy-one years ago, the ethical train wreck that now engulf society began when “powers beyond the dreams of scientific fiction” destroyed Hiroshima on 6 AUG 1945. Two months later, nations and national academies of sciences were united under the UN on 24 OCT 1945 to “forever” divide humanity between:

    1. A few who would rule the world with “secret knowledge”, and
    2. The ignorant masses that would forever serve as their slaves.

    Oliver,

    I have come to the conclusion that those who actually run the US government and many of the other governments around the world have been Gaslighting the public for over 100 years.

    Who knows what scientific discovers and history has been hidden. For example a doctor in Canada ~ 1965 to 1970 came up with a method to arrest rheumatoid arthritis in its tracks. It stopped the progression of the disease and left the patient pain free. The US FDA REFUSED to allow testing in the USA.

    I know this because my Doctor, with very crippled hands took the treatment and then came back to the USA to advocate for the treatment. No such luck. Rheumatoid arthritis is a major money maker so a REAL cure is not wanted.

    This reality check shows Trump ahead in followers and in enthusiasm. Enthusiasm translates to showing up at the polls and dragging your friends and family with you.

    The DC political insiders of course have the real polls and I think the DC political insiders are leaving a brown stain as they huddle trying to figure out how to stop Trump and the Awakened America First patriots.

    Expect this to be the dirtiest most vicious political fight in a long long time. The biggest problem is people already know the media is in the tank for Hillary and lie through their teeth. CNN just admitted it!

    The popular suggestion I am now seeing is to turn off the Boob Tube, cut the cable and get something like ROKU or just use the internet. Stop filling your head with propaganda.

    Trump’s challenge is to awaken the masses to the fact that they have lived in slavery, while enjoying the “benefits” of free phones, food stamps, medical care, and 1001+ channels of TV distractions from reality.

    That is challenging message to communicate!

The comments on the various online versions of the daily misinformation outlets (Spiegel, Stern, Focus, Welt, from left to sort-of-right) are often in direct contradiction to the articles they accompany. At least the people who take the time and trouble to comment aren’t fooled. Let’s hope they vote the way they write/speak…

    Donald Trump was against the invasion of Iraq and the method Obama used to withdraw. The U.S. military ‘donated’ about $580 million worth of material and equipment to the Iraqis when it abruptly withdrew from that country in 2011. Much of it is now in the hands of ISIS. It will be repeating that same mistake. The United States military will be leaving behind $6 billion worth of military equipment as it withdraws from Afghanistan.

    That is the history I remember, even though I am a born and raised Southerner. Yes, some Southerners called that war the War of Northern Aggression. Well, there was some Northern Aggression, but there also was some major Southern Aggression over the “Peculiar Institution”.

    Often not remembered these days, though if you search many of the old South’s archives, you will find that the character of slavery changed over time, particularly with and following the 1820s/30s Trail of Tears. Many do not know that Free Blacks owned Black slaves, relatively more than did Free Whites. Those Free Blacks were themselves killed, expropriated and/or exiled. I wonder how many Southern Free Blacks got caught up in the Fugitive Slave Act madness.
