TT – Only 3 More Weeks!

And Counting….

The Trump Transition “TT” at minus 3 weeks. (We skipped -4 as I started 5 late)

December is going going (gone), and 3 more in January. Sporadically I’ll put up additional TT posts as any one gets too full to load quickly, or as some event causes me to desire to put a head post up on the topic.

Prior threads in the chain are:

In this installment, we have Obama “punishing” the Russians (more street theatre for effect from the Organizer In Chief?) for their “hacking” – ignoring that under the PRISM program the USA demanded that companies like Microsoft, Apple, Cisco, etc. etc. ship products pre-hacked for the convenience of the USA TLAs (Three Letter Agencies, like FBI, CIA, NSA, etc…) Oh, and ignore those Chinese hackers ripping of any information not buried in a Mayonnaise Jar in the back yard…

IMHO, what we have is Obama as Graffiti Artist and Street Thug. He’s pissing in the punch bowl at the party and breaking windows anywhere he can find them. But what do you expect from an immature Marxist trained as a Community Organizer (i.e. professional rabble rouser and creator of angry mobs). All while his “party” just watches and says nothing, or worse, praises this tantrum. Destruction for destruction’s sake and attempts to prevent Trump from governing wherever he can. Somehow I think Trump is just not going to care, and will get on with the business of fixing the broken windows and replacing the punch in a smooth and efficient manner.

Hey, it’s Obama’s Legacy, and if he wants it to be “Brat having a tantrum, throwing rocks and pissing on the carpet”, so be it. I know it’s helping to assure I never vote for a Democrat again… (Full Disclosure: I voted for Obama in the California Primary in his first run… Oh the shame… but I was an ABC voter – Anyone But Clinton.)

With that: Let the conversing commence!

Putin schooled Obama in diplomacy with HIS response to Obama’s petulant fit. It is embarrassing to see him as the leader of this country. It is like we are back in kindergarten and being told to fingerpaint while the school building burns down!

  2. Larry Ledwick says:

I think this tweet qualifies as one of the best comments ever on the Computer hacks this election season.

Bill Mitchell ‏@mitchellvii 5 minutes ago

The biggest hack faced by the Democrats this election season was stupid.exe. They found it on Hillary’s server.

    @Clipe:

Unrolling the links to the Rolling Stone gives a quite well thought out article:

    http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/features/something-about-this-russia-story-stinks-w458439

This has led to widespread confusion among news audiences over whether the Russians hacked the DNC emails (a story that has at least been backed by some evidence, even if it hasn’t always been great evidence), or whether Russians hacked vote tallies in critical states (a far more outlandish tale backed by no credible evidence).

As noted in The Intercept and other outlets, an Economist/YouGov poll conducted this month shows that 50 percent of all Clinton voters believe the Russians hacked vote tallies.

This number is nearly as disturbing as the 62 percent of Trump voters who believe the preposterous, un-sourced Trump/Alex Jones contention that “millions” of undocumented immigrants voted in the election.

Seems to be pretty well balanced and “has clue” in that there is NO evidence for any Russian Hacking of the actual voting. What they may have done is hacked the DNC and (GASP!!!) let the truth out via an email dump to Wikileaks. (To whomever did that: I’ll buy you a bottle of your favored kind of booze / preferred consumable if ever the chance presents… You will, or course, need to tell me how you did the hack… No, I’ll not tell anyone else. Just “shop talk” between two geeks… and maybe a few “Wow, that’s Trick!” or perhaps “They fell for that old gimmick?”)

But the Rolling Stone pretty much has it right. Nothing of significance was done to the actual vote, and the DNC had the truth smeared in their collective lying faces. And this is bad how? Oh, because the truth was pretty ugly…

I voted for Obama in the California Primary in his first run…
Not the only one by a few million, and 8 years later he is gone.
In history his achievement of the Presidency against great odds will help keep America together.
    Never forget that.
As for the duh moments they will all disappear.
All the sliding doors re converge and the narrative goes on.

  5. gallopingcamel says:

It makes you wonder how anyone as childish and clueless as Obama could be elected president. At least Jimmy Carter can be proud because he is no longer the worst president since WWII.

  6. David A Anderson says:

I must say I find the idea of two or three million illegals voting far more credible then a Russian hack of election tallies.

  7. Gail Combs says:

The Rolling Stone was by Matt Taibbi and he is usually reasonable for a progressive so he sees there is no real evidence. He also see that 1/2 those who voted Hillary actually think Russia hacked the vote tallies thanks to the misleading MSM headlines.

Actually I have several Matt Taibbi and a few other Rolling Stone articles bookmarked.

  8. Larry Ledwick says:

Nice summary on the allegations of Russian hacking the 2016 presidential election.
There is a big difference between actually skewing voter totals (very difficult/impossible for a foreign government – relatively easy for a major party political machine in the inner cities), and just sucking up stupid emails from computer security clueless political hacks who did everything but put out a welcome sign for hackers.

    https://sharylattkisson.com/eight-facts-on-the-russian-hacks/

It is very likely we have a confluence of two situations here, an insider leak by a DNC activist for Berne and a simple email hack by external hackers on a poorly secured email system. Those events do not necessarily have any connection other than they happened during the same election cycle.

  9. Larry Ledwick says:

I think my last post got eaten by the spam filter it was a link to Sharyl Attkisson, perhaps the comments I attached triggered the filter.

[Reply: was in SPAM… likely more of the Truthyness Wars as sites not toeing the Left Wing Ideological Line get tagged, then fished out and untagged… -E.M.Smith]

  10. Larry Ledwick says:

Hmmm thanks, since the second one intentionally had very little comment, I wonder if Sharyl A’s URL is on a black list for wordpress? (or was it only the first post that was flagged as spam?)

  11. E.M.Smith says:

Both got flagged as SPAM, and it almost certainly the URL was PC tagged by “someone” and now I’m tagging it as “OK” via fishing it out and the Truthyness Wars go on…

There’s been a spate of this since the “Fake News” meme / fantasy / Social Manipulation push begain…

Verry interesting read here, will need some watching and waiting to see if it looks like a real strategy.

@Larry Second link is a duplicate of prior post…

  15. H.R. says:

@ Larry – The link to Kissinger’s role in the election was indeed very interesting. However, no sale yet to this Deplorable. For one, the timeline of when Kissinger met with (or talked to) Trump and Putin to defend the 3 legacy items for Obama is not well established to lend credibility to the article. IIRC, Trump had come out against the Paris Climate agreement long before Wikileaks started dumping Podesta’s emails.

For another, protecting Obama’s legacy of Leadership and Guidance is laughable on it’s face because most of Europe is laughing in Obama’s face, witness Brexit, and Italy.

And then getting Trump to not act unilaterally on Israel, well all that seems to be a concern raised weeks after Trump won the election.and after Kissinger visited Trump Tower. I seem to recall that Trump pledged support for Israel early in his campaign for the nomination.

So far, my reading of that article is that someone (no author mentioned for the article) is claiming an Obama/Kissinger deal based on a half-teaspoon of facts laced together with a heaping tablespoon of speculation.

  16. Larry Ledwick says:

Did I say that first link was really interesting? (sorry copied link from wrong window and did not catch it.)
Try this one (you can read this link 2x as well to make it all come out even)

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/congress-must-move-to-impeach-trump-on-day-one_us_585e3fa2e4b014e7c72edc95

  17. Larry Ledwick says:

H.R. Yes I noticed that there was on by line so hard to judge who wrote it or their credibility.
It struck me as spin, because Kissinger is to my understanding a globalist too, so why would he have much influence on either Trump or Putin.

I think it is likely either wishful thinking or suggestion as setup for some other story line to get folks to think in those terms (question is, setup for what??)

In that case it could be “pre-suasion” which is a method to influence an audience’s future behavior by leaving hints that pre-condition their subconscious to think an idea is more reasonable than they would if they just heard it out of the blue because at a subconscious level they remember that they read or heard a very similar idea and that can “vote up” the credibility of a response by removing the inhibition of having never heard or considered the idea before.

  18. H.R. says:

    @ Larry
“In that case it could be “pre-suasion” which is a method to influence an audience’s future behavior by leaving hints that pre-condition their subconscious to think an idea is more reasonable than they would if they just heard it out of the blue […]”

I think you’ve hit on it. There are facts in the article, but they don’t add up, unless you’re someone or other that wants to paint Trump as a ‘sellout,’ particularly after Trump is sworn in. So plant the seeds early and later say, “Aha! See, it was being reported on a few weeks ago.”

Or perhaps it’s ‘because Russians’ isn’t working out very well, so someone is paving the way to switch to ‘because Kissinger’.

  19. Larry Ledwick says:
  20. E.M.Smith says:

Absent any sort of attribution of facts, that Kissenger-Did-It article is just someone having a smoke induced fantasy for pay…

Like the Huff Po folks on an impeachment when his party is in power…

  21. H.R. says:

Oh, heck! I looked at the site name in the link and it had the word ‘justice’ in it. That’s SJW and fantasizing fur suure.
