Are Democrats Angling for a Constitutional Crisis?

It would seem that the Democrats are pushing to create a Constitutional Crisis at every turn.

The latest is that the Acting Attorney General had been refusing to enforce a lawful order by the President to restrict immigration from selected countries. There is no doubt this is in the authority of the President.

She has now been fired.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/jan/30/sally-yates-acting-attorney-general-fired-trump/

Sally Yates is out. Sessions is not yet in. Democrats are trying to break the system. There is no doubt that these folks are coordinating. The only question is “to what end?”.

It sure is starting to look like an attempted “legal coup”. A constitutional crisis as the rule of law is pitched out in favor of political expediency and game theory.

I can only hope that President Trump realizes that this much flack means he is directly over the target and needs to send in more force as rapidly as possible.

At this point I can see no really logical reason for the Dimocrat Putsch other than an attempt to force a “Color Revolution” in the USA. For expedience, I’m going to call it the “Gold Revolution” since Trump likes gold and those who oppose him are clearly getting a lot of it for their services… One wonders if they realize there’s a Red White & Blue counter revolutionary guard in 90%+ of the land of the U.S.A.? Maybe it’s a good thing that the Democrats have done their best to ban guns in the areas where there are the most democrats… ;-)

So h/t to Larry for being “on top of it” and…

23 minutes from news to history? Wow, that’s fast!

Not a lot of time to harvest the glory of the News Cycle before you are on your way to the bread line and “who were you again?” of yesterday’s news…

I’d bet they had someone to “help” pack the desk and put it on the front steps for her too…

Trump needs to shut Soros down. He funds all illegal activity and has called for Trump’s death, Why has this guy not been arrested. Sedition seems to fit his activities very well.

Probably because he is “in” with a lot of the EuroEBs.

Using the old axiom, if the Democrats are accusing conservatives of doing something, you can probably assume that is what they are actually doing behind the curtains.

It seems that a qualification for being a RINO along with almost all democrats of course. is to be funded by an Open Society Foundation which has guess who funding them

I think we are seeing a battle against the NWO

Even the ‘Remoaners’ as those trying to reverse Brexit are called ..Tony Blair has resurfaced with ten million pounds to fund a movement to reverse Brexit – unsurprisingly

And if you do not have one, create one. So yes, that is exactly what the democrats are doing. And in normal politics with a politician in the Whitehouse, it might work.

But democrats are not very good at history. They forget Sun Tzu, and the first lesson of his stategy – know your enemy. They still have no clue who they are dealing with.

Interesting article. Someone needs to ask them “Which is it? Urgent necessity or symbolic?”

In courtrooms across the US, the activists are pushing to argue that these disruptions are a last resort given political inaction and are “legally justified to avoid the catastrophic harm caused to humanity by unprecedented climatic disruption”.
    […]
“They’re looking to see how can they be more effective in a faster timeframe,” she said. “It’s a symbolic act to draw attention to the fact that not only are these pipelines not invincible, but there is power within the people to stop these incredibly egregious pipelines.”

It is an ‘Analysis’ and I caught at least two OUT and OUT lies.

….Trump’s decision to keep all his businesses (not bothering with any blind trusts or the like), and his fairly open diversion of campaign funds, made it fairly clear from the beginning that he was seeing this as a way to become rich in the way that only dedicated kleptocrats can, and this week’s updates definitely tally with that. Kushner looks increasingly likely to be the money-man, acting as the liaison between piles of cash and the president….

OK on the ‘keeping all his businesses’ see President-elect Donald Trump Press Conference with a video of his lawyer explaining the President and VP DO NOT have to put businesses in to trusts but Trump did anyway. All the paper work on his left pertains to placing his businesses in the trust this liar states never happened.

Second. Trump ran his primary on his dime and only asked for contribution AFTER nomination by the Republicans. Campaign funds went directly to Trump’s campaign because the RINOs were caught asking for funds FOR TRUMP and then using the funds to get themselves elected instead. Also Trump did not allow PAC money to be used on his behalf since he wanted ONLY small contributions (limit of $1500??)

  14. Gail Combs says:

“When Sally Yates was confirmed as deputy U.S. attorney general nearly two years ago, she assured Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions that she would be willing to stand up to the President if he took “unlawful” action.”

Since Trump’s E.O. was worded to be a replica of Obama’s E.O. Either she lied when she did not stand up to Obama or She lied when she called Trump’s E.O. “unlawful action.”

Since the President has the power to BAN ALL IMMIGRATION I do not see that the action in either case is unlawful. So that makes her actions SOUR Grapes.

I have to go so you can look that law up your self. I found it in Cornell Law library a couple days ago and I think I posted it here.

It would seem Sally Yates deserved to be fired and possibly more. It is NOT up to her to place US citizens AT RISK because of her personal feelings.
    From Cornell Law
    8 U.S. Code § 1182 – Inadmissible aliens

    (3) Security and related grounds
    (A) In genera lAny alien who a consular officer or the Attorney General knows, or has reasonable ground to believe, seeks to enter the United States to engage solely, principally, or incidentally in—
(i)any activity (I) to violate any law of the United States relating to espionage or sabotage or (II) to violate or evade any law prohibiting the export from the United States of goods, technology, or sensitive information,
    (ii)any other unlawful activity, or
(iii)any activity a purpose of which is the opposition to, or the control or overthrow of, the Government of the United States by force, violence, or other unlawful means,
    is inadmissible.

    (B) Terrorist activities
    (i) In generalAny alien who—
    (I)has engaged in a terrorist activity;
    (II)a consular officer, the Attorney General, or the Secretary of Homeland Security knows, or has reasonable ground to believe, is engaged in or is likely to engage after entry in any terrorist activity (as defined in clause (iv));
    (III)has, under circumstances indicating an intention to cause death or serious bodily harm, incited terrorist activity;
(IV) is a representative (as defined in clause (v)) of—
(aa)a terrorist organization (as defined in clause (vi)); or
    (bb)a political, social, or other group that endorses or espouses terrorist activity;
    (V)is a member of a terrorist organization described in subclause (I) or (II) of clause (vi);
    (VI)is a member of a terrorist organization described in clause (vi)(III), unless the alien can demonstrate by clear and convincing evidence that the alien did not know, and should not reasonably have known, that the organization was a terrorist organization;
    (VII)endorses or espouses terrorist activity or persuades others to endorse or espouse terrorist activity or support a terrorist organization;
(VIII)has received military-type training (as defined in section 2339D(c)(1) of title 18) from or on behalf of any organization that, at the time the training was received, was a terrorist organization (as defined in clause (vi)); or
(IX)is the spouse or child of an alien who is inadmissible under this subparagraph, if the activity causing the alien to be found inadmissible occurred within the last 5 years, is inadmissible. An alien who is an officer, official, representative, or spokesman of the Palestine Liberation Organization is considered, for purposes of this chapter, to be engaged in a terrorist activity.

    (f) Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by President

Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate. Whenever the Attorney General finds that a commercial airline has failed to comply with regulations of the Attorney General relating to requirements of airlines for the detection of fraudulent documents used by passengers traveling to the United States (including the training of personnel in such detection), the Attorney General may suspend the entry of some or all aliens transported to the United States by such airline……

The Supreme Court has permitted foreign nationals to be excluded and expelled because of their race. [The Japanese Immigrant Case (Yamataya v. Fisher), 189 U.S. 86 (1903); The Chinese Exclusion Case (Chae Chan Ping v. United States), 130 U.S. 581 (1889).]

The Supreme Court has allowed foreign nationals to be deported for political associations that were entirely lawful at the time they were engaged in. [Galvan v. Press, 347 U.S. 522 (1954)]

The Supreme Court has upheld laws barring foreign nationals from owning land, even where the laws were a transparent cover for anti-Japanese racism.

The Supreme Court has permitted the indefinite detention of “arriving aliens” stopped at the border on the basis of secret evidence that they could not confront. [Shaughnessy v. United States ex reI. Mezei, 345 U.S. 206 (1953)]

The Supreme Court has allowed states to bar otherwise qualified foreign nationals from employment as public school teachers and police officers, based solely on their status as foreigners. [Foley v. Connelie, 435 U.S. 291 (1978) (permitting states to require citizenship in hiring state troopers); Ambach v. Norwick, 441 U.S. 68 (1979) (permitting states to require citizenship in hiring public school teachers); Cabell v. ChavezSalido, 454 U.S. 432 (1982) (permitting states to require citizenship in hiring of deputy probation officers).]

  19. Gail Combs says:

    On further reflection the article:
Trial Balloon for a Coup? [By Trump]

Is written to encourage the thoughts that President Trump is NOT a legitimate president and is trying to overthrow the US government. (ERRRRrrr guys we just had an election and that DOES overthrow the Obama Admin. in case you forgot.) This article is written based on lies, disinformation and appeals to emotion and NOT on legal issues.

The author is skirting darn close to the edge of ‘seditious agitator’ as are the paid agitators.

Hearing Before the House of Representatives, Seventy-First Congress link

…Black’s Law Dictionary, second edition, page 1067, gives the following definition of “sedition”:
“An insurrectionary movement tending towards treason, but wanting an overt act: attempts made by meetings or speeches or publications, to disturb the tranquillity of the state.”

So also, in Wilkes v. Shields, the court said:
“The obvious meaning of the words ‘seditious agitator,’ as they would naturally be understood by ordinary men, when published in reference to another, is that he is a disturber of public peace and order, a subverter of just laws, and a bad citizen.”

In the case of Arisona Publishing Co v. Harris “sedition” is defined as follows:
“Sedition is the raising of commotion or disturbances in the state; it is a revolt against legitimate authority.”

We therefore conclude that the term ‘sedition’ and the word ‘seditious” have well-defined meanings in law. That the teaching of sedition against our government can be, and has long been prohibited, needs no further citation of authorities…

    The National Emergencies Act (Pub.L. 94–412, 90 Stat. 1255, enacted September 14, 1976, codified at 50 U.S.C. § 1601-1651) is a United States federal law

    ….Procedure for new emergencies

The Act authorized the President to activate emergency provisions of law via an emergency declaration on the conditions that the President specifies the provisions so activated and notifies Congress. An activation would expire if the President expressly terminated the emergency, or did not renew the emergency annually, or if each house of Congress passed a resolution terminating the emergency. After presidents objected to this “Congressional termination” provision on separation of powers grounds, it was replaced in 1985 with termination by an enacted joint resolution. The Act also requires the President and executive agencies to maintain records of all orders and regulations that proceed from use of emergency authority, and to regularly report the cost incurred to Congress…. WIKI

The act requires the President to declare a national emergency formally and publish it in the Federal Register. It has to specify the statutory authorities to be used under such a declaration.

Civil unrest would be one such reason and the Pussyfied Progressives are working their way up to it thanks to idiots like this author.

  20. Larry Ledwick says:

Yes these kinds of articles are actually pre-suasion suggestions, that plant the seed in peoples brains that President Trump is trying to do something nefarious rather that dialing back the out of control government to what it used to be (ie a controllable beast).

If you watch progressive social media you will start seeing these sort of ideas taking root over the next few weeks until it is “common knowledge” that he is trying to overthrow the Constitution which predisposes the radical left to get crazy and start rioting thinking they are defending the country, rather that being useful fools being used to tear it down.

This gives the radical left the social, moral and ethical cover to believe they are doing something good while they are really destroying what they assert they care about.

  21. Serioso says:

According to the Chief, “The latest is that the Acting Attorney General had been refusing to enforce a lawful order by the President to restrict immigration from selected countries.” So who says the order is lawful? Who else, our Chief. Is he a lawyer? Not as far as I know. (Nor am I!) But the courts have ruled, repeatedly, that laws have to be based on evidence and facts. Really!!! There is a standard for legality!!! And that standard is subject to litigation. What I have seen so far is that Trump’s selection of countries had no [claimed] basis on fact. None of the countries he choose has been a clear [or past] threat to our country.Because his order has neither evidence nor logic behind it, it is probably unlawful. But then, I’m no lawyer. Under our Democracy, the courts will decide

  22. pearce m. schaudies says:

@serioso. Under The Immigration and nationalization act a president has broad powers to restrict or control immigration. The last five presidents have used this to restrict or control immigration from some countries deemed supporting terrorists.

@serioso. Under Mr Obama’s time in office, he placed limited restrictions on certain travellers who had visited Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Syria, Libya, Somalia and Yemen. These countries all have terrorist elements internally that has expressed hatred for America and the desire to hurt.

  24. Serioso says:

What you said is certainly true. But, under English Common Law, and US law, Presidential (and Congressional and any other legislative or executive) actions have to be based on both facts and logic. Trump provided no facts and very little logic (especially given that no designated State had directly harmed out country); his choice of States appeared completely arbitrary, and the lack of a factual basis for his decree is surely up to the courts to decide.

Nice exchanging views with you. I am not accustomed to respect and regards on this blog. Cheers!

  25. pearce m. schaudies says:

@serioso. It is true that legislative and executive action should be based on facts and logic. This is not always the case in America or any other country. They are often based on emotion or perceived threat.

It is true Trump did not provide much background for his decision. As I pointed out Obama had thought necessary to restrict immigration temporarily from those countries. It is better to take an ounce of prevention than a pound of C4 haha. In Texas if someone says in front of witnesses I’m going to kill you then at a later date you may shoot first and not go to jail.

This statement demonstrates the basic lack of understand of the notion of the United States of America as ‘A Nation of Laws, Not a Nation of Men’

    Or the more precise quote:

“A government of laws, and not of men.”

“…. Trump really is not a fascist. He is more like Juan Peron in South America. He’s a peronista, all for himself an his supporters…..”
    …………….

Where his supporters are ordinary Americans who are not at all happy with the Radical Transformation of the USA or with Globalism or with the export of their jobs and wealth or America’s descent into third world status. SURPRISE! They actually noticed.

I do not think the Left understands the amount of ‘COLD ANGER’ that has built up over the last 3 decades because that anger has built up very quietly. Rural folk are quite around strangers and they are working so have no time to riot like the paid Rent-a-Thugs. The Left does not understand that all Trump did was jump in front of the lynch mob. Trump is NOT our leader, he is our weapon. Luckily THIS time we only used the ballot box and not the other box. (Something I very much feared)

This is a good article by a professor ‘studying’ rural people that shows Progressives STILL don’t have a clue.
WISCONSIN PROFESSOR FINDS OUT WHY RURAL AMERICANS DON’T LIKE CITY DWELLERS
Actually she THINKS she found out but she completely missed the boat.

“I did not expect to hear it, but many of the people I listened to in rural areas exhibited a multifaceted resentment toward urban areas,” Professor Katherine J. Cramer writes in her new book….

…She left her UW office to bravely walk, often unannounced, into informal gatherings that bond rural residents and transmit gossip and perceptions…

    A few of Cramer’s conclusions:

*There’s a widespread perception that public school teachers, even those teaching their children and grandchildren, are overpaid government workers with benefits and pensions beyond the dreams of harder-working, overtaxed rural residents.

*Rural residents often take small-government positions that seem to be against their best interests. “…[F]olks missing teeth rarely supported government-sponsored health care reform.”

*Walker gave them “a sense of gratitude that finally someone in power was recognizing the burdens they faced. To them, someone was finally acknowledging the injustice of their hard-earned money being shunted toward the undeserving.”

    What she heard scares her

I dissect the article HERE and point out where this person is clueless because of her liberal elitist mentality. She really has no basis of understanding to attach the data she collected.

Like her I have inserted myself into those informal gatherings at feed stores, livestock auctions, turkey-shoots, church picnics and just yesterday at a pawn shops near Fort Brag. I have done so for the last twenty years and have been very surprised at ordinary people’s grasp of the Constitution and the shredding of it by government. So yes the ‘Cold Angry’ is there. And no she has no idea WHY.

Anyone who thinks that overt terrorist acts are the ONLY reason to restrict immigration from an or nation is nothing more then a simpleton. Poll after poll of Muslims, both immigrated and still national in the ME, and NA, demonstrate a belief in Sharia law, Islamic tennants like inferiority of women, 2nd class status to non-muslims, honor killings, FGM, legalised rape, wife beating etc.

If 2% of a population supported such ideology it would be rational to cease allowing imigration from those nations. Yet poll after poll demonstrates 25 to 75 percent or higher support for such innane ideology.

In the EU the riots, high increase in rapes and other violent crimes, the greater the percentage of Muslims the greater the increase of all these crimes and perverse ideology, calls for Sharia such as in Sweden and Germany, are certainly all the logical basis Trump needs to stop taking immigrants that beleve in religious rule, legalised rape, 2nd class status for non muslims, legalised wife beating, etc.

All major Islamic jursprudence legal councils, Sharia and Sunni, support the above atrocities.

To say there is no logical basis for stopping said immigration is mindless stupidity of such an astounding PC brainwashed mind as to cause all common sense logical circuits in the human brain to short out.

Trumps E.Order was vetted by the Justice Department for legality, that’s how I know it was legal. Watch the daily press conferences and you can pick up this kind of stuff. (Or heck, watch Fox or even just have CSPAN running and eventually some senator or other brings up this kind of stuff). Part of the problem was that the Asst. Per the “logic”: In the reasons for it (as sent to the Office Of Legal Council To The Grand PooBah or whatever the proper name of it is…) was the assertion that this list of countries were places without a functioning government sufficient to gather enough information to vet anyone. That’s anyone of any faith, BTW… If you can’t find out who they are, they can be anyone including those folks who want to kill us. And no, I don’t want to wait until after 50 people are shot to add source countries to the list…

Yes that is the main reason and history has shown over the last 1400 years the Mussies just do not ‘play nice’ with others once there is a significant number of them.
India Facts Statistics and the spread of Islam

And the Mussies have not changed
Since 9/11 Islamists have carried out 30,227 deadly terror Attacks

So far in the last 30 days there were 158 Islamic attacks in 26 countries, in which 1117 people were killed and 1428 injured and that is not all the attacks.

[In the 7 countries that Trump listed ]
Americans have been gunned down and blown up in Yemen,
    tortured and murdered in Iraq,
    burned in Libya,
jailed for their faith in Iran,
    assassinated in the Sudan,

and stoned to death in Somalia…
all in the name of Islam!

    …………………
    Islamic Terrorists…
…killed twice as many people in one month (5000) in November, 2014) than were killed in in 350 years of Inquisition (2000-3000).

…murder more people everyday than the KKK has in the last 70 years (26 since 1945).

…killed more civilians in two hours on September 11th (2977) than in the 26 years of sectarian conflict in Northern Ireland (2236).

…massacred more Iraqis on a single day in June, 2014 (1566) than the number of criminals executed by America in the last 40 years (1423).

…killed more Americans on American soil than the combined militaries of Japan and Nazi Germany in WWII.

…slaughter more people everyday than were killed during the entire Salem Witch Trials (12).

    @Serioso

But the courts have ruled, repeatedly, that laws have to be based on evidence and facts. Really!!!

LOL! Serioso is being a clown! The courts have never ruled that! They have ruled it has to be constitutional! In fact it is a law – 8 U.S. Code § 1182 – Inadmissible aliens – and the authority rests in the Constitution!

Serioso, do yourself a favor. Stop reading fake news. Do your own research. Then you would not be making nonsensical statements and asking questions based upon lies and fake news!

Seriously, Serioso, did you whine when Obama did the exact same thing?

  37. philjourdan says:

    @Serioso

No, there is no provision in English Common law or precedent about facts with respect to laws! Where are you getting your talking points from? Not even Fake news is talking about that! Nor is logic even discussed in ANY laws or half of them would have been thrown out a long time ago!

Stop acting like a clown and do your own research! Seriously Serioso, acting stupid is not a sign of knowledge.

This is something which I think might well need looking into. Perhaps there should be a requirement that government departments should aproximately be representative of the makeup of the local populace politically.

  39. David A Anderson says:

Gail, PG, and yes, all including Serioso, as these US illegal tennants are institutionalized in the religious legal institution of Islamic nations, do you consider it reasonable and legal to state that as a matter of US policy any group that advocates religious central goverment, legalised rape, etc etc, is banned from sending refugees until such time as those immoral tennants, embedded in their legal system are formally renounced.

  40. p.g.sharrow says:

He had anglicized the name from it’s French spelling to the present American spelling. I would guess He was tired of being treated like a second class citizen in his own country. If you want to live under a Muslim dictated legal system. Live in one of the HELL HOLES that that religion has created. If you prefer the conditions of America then you MUST adopt American values. CAIR people have bragged that they will USE American values and protections to destroy our way of life and impose their own system. They have declared WAR, preached violence, Theirs is the only way, Convert or Die.

  43. David A says:

PG, well their is certainly abundant “evidence and reason” to ban immigrants that promote the barbarous tenants of Islamic thought rooted and expressed in all the major schools of Islamic jurisprudence governing the Islamic nations, Shia and Sunni. It is not imaginable how Serioso finds such a ban to be lacking in reason and evidence.

  44. Serioso says:

@p.g. ALL laws and government actions are in principle subject to constitutional review. I assume you knew that, but maybe you didn’t.

Any anyone who thinks believers in Islam can be banned from the United States is seriously deluded. Religious tests are clearly unconstitutional. On the other hand, it is surely legal [and current practice] to require immigrants who wish to become citizens to take an oath of allegiance to the United States, and, furthermore, it is legal to quiz them as to whether such an oath conflicts in any way with their religious beliefs. Most religious believers hold their beliefs rather lightly; this goes for catholics, protestants, and jews as well. Being a member of a sect is not proof that one subscribes to all the beliefs of the sect.

  46. p.g.sharrow says:

Serioso, If you actually studied the subject rather then spout talking points from a script, you would know that the review of laws only takes place after an enforcement action causes a person to have STANDING to fight back against the actions of the enforcement.
During the present government actions I don’t recall any banning of Muslims because they are Muslims. The Temporary Ban was about people that could not be vetted due to poor intergovernmental communications of these peoples history…pg

  47. E.M.Smith says:

IMHO, but noting that I don’t know what all crap “treaties” might have been snuck in to break the real constitution, as proposed immigrants or refugies are not US Citzens they have no standing from which to complain about US Immigration Law. We, the Citizens, have a free hand to set that law as we like through our representatives.

As we have in the past…

I note in passing that the Religious Establishment clause only applies to the Federal Government forcing a particular religion on the citizens of the several states. As States have had legitimate State religions in the past, clearly the present application for things such as forbidding singing Christmas carols in schools is Progressive Thuggary Lunacy needing reversal pronto.

So no, the Constitution does not forbid any test of potential immigrants (though current lawyers and judges do).

Per law requiring facts and reason: while reason is needed in their interpretation, logic can be very slim. Nothing, for example, forbids mutually exclusive laws existing at the same time nor laws entirely devoid of reason ( like defining Pi as exactly 3). Tort and trial USE logic and reason, but they also use misdirection, innuendo, lies of omission, political intrigue and so much more…

Oh, and just for grins, read up on Law French in the UK (on which our law rests) then tell me how logical it is… https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_French

  48. David A Anderson says:

Seriso, if we ban a non citizen from imigration based on idelogical reasons ( Islamic jurisprudence in all major Muslim nations supports women being the establishment of a religious state based on Islamic tradition, then we are not violating any constutional laws whatsoever.

Or is it your postion that if my religion says I am allowed to kill you or force you to pay me a tithe, your choice, death or payment, or conversion, a choice supported in all major Islamic schools, then I can do this as it is protected by religion?

Do you really imagine that their are zero theoretical ideological conditions that would allow the US to say no to immigrants with any beliefs? Is Non discrimination against a religion is unconditional in your view.

  49. Gail Combs says:

    In a word YES!

All you have to do is look at what is happening now on college campuses with Cry-ins and professors, even at MIT speaking out against Trump. When did you hear a peep from a professor about Obummer that was not praise??

Survey shocker: Liberal profs admit they’d discriminate against conservatives in hiring, advancement
‘Impossible lack of diversity’ reflects ideological intimidation on campus

…. surveyed a roughly representative sample of academics and scholars in social psychology and found that “In decisions ranging from paper reviews to hiring, many social and personality psychologists admit that they would discriminate against openly conservative colleagues.”

This finding surprised the researchers. The survey questions “were so blatant that I thought we’d get a much lower rate of agreement,” Mr. Inbar said. “Usually you have to be pretty tricky to get people to say they’d discriminate against minorities.”

One question, according to the researchers, “asked whether, in choosing between two equally qualified job candidates for one job opening, they would be inclined to vote for the more liberal candidate (i.e., over the conservative).”

More than a third of the respondents said they would discriminate against the conservative candidate….

And of course these are the people who train future school teachers, politicians, CEO… and Journalists.

Hubby and his youngest brother are both conservative. The middle brother, who went to college to train as a journalist, is a Flaming Leftist.

Anyway, it would take his entire term, and probably many years longer, to complete his boondoggle barrier….

Immigration is an emotional issue, and Trump is a master of exploiting public fear. That creates a difficult climate for reaching consensus. Tillis is taking a risk by venturing into the storm…”

SO after saying Trump is exploiting ‘fear’ he pulls out the emotional tear jerker and pushes anmesty AGAIN only under a different sheepskin.
“…. many illegal immigrants have U.S.-born children. Tearing apart their families shouldn’t be an option…
Tillis also proposes providing temporary legal status to people who entered the country illegally as children — the same step for which Obama received so much criticism from Republicans. Yet, these are essentially young Americans, educated here, working here, speaking English, who may not even remember living anywhere else.

Other measures would reform legal immigration and visa programs. Employment of illegal immigrants could be addressed through a stronger e-Verify program. Finally, a path to legal status must be created for law-abiding undocumented immigrants….”

Those of us who are older, have already seen this movie (1970’s, early 1990’s) and know how it will end. Sooner or later you will see a Watts’ or Rodney King riot replay, and like happened in Missouri during the “hands up don’t shoot” riots some good old boys will be standing in front of businesses with shot guns and body armor, or in Watts were Korean store owners stood on the roof of their businesses with AK’s.

Only this time the good old boys are fed up and if some street punk gives them a reason to claim self defense, there will be a body count. When the smoke clears the thin blue line will be filing charges against the riot organizers not the folks defending themselves and others from assault by masked thugs with sticks and Mace/pepper spray.

  61. Gail Combs says:

Larry, I think when Trump gets full control, you will find one of these ‘spontaneous riots’ with the Masked Black Bloc Thugs, all of a sudden surrounded and rounded up.

It is important to know that the U.C. Campuses have their own Police Departments. These report to the University ( i.e. Napolitano ultimately in the case of Berzerkly ) and the Board Of Regents is headed up by the Governor ( So ‘moonbeam’ Gov. Jerry Brown).

The police have contacts in the dorms (i.e. run lots of under covers) and will have known more or less what was likely to happen. That they did NOT surround and arrest the rioters says they were given an order to that effect.

It is in no way at all NOT directly the responsibility of the U.C. Administration that this riot was allowed to happen and that they then did not immediately arrest the perpetrators. it is by design.

So, IMHO, Trump is being very accurate in his target of their Federal Funding. (Some news show or other had a talking head claiming the UC was innocent as the rioters were from ‘off campus’… they ARE directly responsible via their ownership of the campus police department.)

BTW, I know from personal experience during a ‘demonstration’ at a UC campus in the ’70s that the police had under covers in the crowed and were stage managing the ‘fire on the train tracks’ as I (and a buddy) had accidentally infiltrated their on-site ‘huddle’ mid event when they discussed it with reps from the uniformed officers (City and Campus) and the fire department and the other agencies.

Now the ‘Deporables’ are turning it around and using the hats against the left leaning idiots.

The origin of the whole mess was a Billy Bush blackmail tape made in secret where Bush egged Trump into some men’s locker room type talk and taped it. The whole thing was against the law in California since Trump had not been aware of the taping of a private conversation between the two men.

California’s wiretapping law is a “two-party consent” law. California makes it a crime to record or eavesdrop on any confidential communication, including a private conversation or telephone call, without the consent of all parties to the conversation. See Cal. Penal Code § 632.
    http://www.dmlp.org/legal-guide/california-recording-law

Most mature women considered the conversation a big YAWN…

The vulgar rant by Ashley Judd, in the video (see link) is certainly a lot worse since it was PUBLIC.

  66. Serioso says:

Sorry, Chief, if this seems rather off-topic, but, since you have allowed so many of your respondents to sprout off on their favorite rants against Muslims, I thought this would be valuable as a counter: A report, by an actual reporter, on what life is actually like in the fight against ISIS. Not all Muslims are on the side of ISIS!

    http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2017/02/06/the-desperate-battle-to-destroy-isis

I rather doubt any of your readers will read this to the end — I had trouble, too. It’s long. But if you want to know what real reporters do [in writing; not TV] this is valuable. It’s from the [widely despised] Main Stream Media; it’s a great example of how real reporters and journalists do their jobs.

    Cheers!

  67. David A Anderson says:

    1. War is he’ll. ( yep, knew that)
    2. Muslims killing other Muslims. ( yep, been going on for centuries.

  68. E.M.Smith says:

The New Yorker? Are you kidding? Pap emotobot stories for overly rich women waiting in their Plastic Surgeons Office?

First the NYT, now the New Yorker… seems you have a “thing” for NYC… Not surprised.

As I’ve mentioned before, I run news on TV (or now, increasingly web feeds) so I can multitask with the computer elsewhere. (Usually I just listen but can swap screens if something interesting hits the News) but that doesn’t mean I don’t read other stuff. Also as pointed out before, I read a lot of different sources as noted in the links I post to other newspapers and journals, so you can lose the little “dig” about “not TV”… (FWIW most of my ‘eyes on print’ time goes to technical journals and / or science articles – I actually have little interest in “human interest stories” with political slant most of the time, so most “popular press” is dull to me… not enough content per word to load up the thought buffers….)

Also your sniditude is showing per others opinions and Muslims. NOBODY said that Muslims were not helping in any fight against ISIS. Since the Shia and Sunni despise each other, they often like to “help” us further their war on each other. What folks have said is that the Islamic Culture has a LOT of mandatory tenets that are non-compatible with American Ideals (and that is a truth.) I’ve read the Koran a few times. Cover to Cover. It demands that Muslims “do not take Christians as your friends” and it demands the subjugation of non Muslims and it permits taking “infidel women” by force and putting them in a brothel and so much more incompatible with western liberal values. It directs Muslims to cut off the heads of the infidel, and that is what we see happening, so clearly it isn’t metaphorical.

So please don’t try painting Islam as all Christian Lite. It isn’t.

And yes, it is very off topic. The only tenuous link it has to the topic is the Soros / Globalist desire to take down Europe and America via demographic flooding and dividing the house against itself. The sheer shrieking from the left about Trump simply controlling who floods in shows it is one of their desired end results and a non-negotiable tactic. (So one of THE best places to resist). One need know nothing more about Islam than that to desire to block the flood.

IMHO the world would be a much more peaceful place with two divergent cultures interacting peacefully from mutually remote countries. “Strong fences make good neighbors”. vs “Familiarity breeds contempt”. Mixing the two antagonistic value sets is not going to lead to peace, and never has for 1400 years…

Near as I can tell, this topic is just Troll Bait to try and stir up a backlash, and not very good one at that.

  69. Larry Ledwick says:

As usual you are missing the point. Everyone here knows not all are on the side of ISIS, we have said so many times. Some of them (like interpreters for our troops) should be let in to the US in an expedited manner.

We talk about the “philosophy” not the individuals! We frequently qualify our statements with limiting statements like – Radial Jihadists, Salafi, strictly observant etc. It is the strict application of the core dogma of Islam that defines ISIS.

The problem is that there is no way to determine what is in a person’s heart without some appropriate information source. For an interpreter who has put his life on the line to save American or other allied soldiers, and put himself at great risk of being killed by his neighbors, you have some data points to work with. Some random guy who shows up on a beach claiming to come from a country which is totally dysfunctional and has absolutely no useful ID data bases or any other means of validating his true identity is a complete crap shoot. We know from multiple surveys and studies that any where from 13% to 85% or so of Muslims from some of those countries support strict interpretation of the teachings of Islam including the violent totalitarian Salafi brand that ISIS advocates.

If I offered you a bowl of candies but told you that any where from 13% to 85% of them were contaminated with a deadly poison, would you take a handful and eat it?

SHOCK POLL: Third of Syrian Refugees ISIS Sympathizers, 13 Percent Support

Almost 900 Syrians living in the UK were arrested last year Over a String of Offences Including Rape and Child Abuse

Or what about the REAL refugees, the ones we KNOW will get their heads lopped of?
Obama Refuses To Allow Yazidi And Assyrian Christians Fleeing ISIS To Enter United States

How Many Syrian Refugees Are Terrorists?
A Spring 2015 Global Attitudes survey by the Pew Research Center indicated that among 11 representative nation-states in the Muslim world, as many as 14 percent of a population had a favorable opinion of the Islamic State; as many as 62 percent of a national population didn’t know whether their opinion of the terrorists was favorable or not.
These numbers are “indicative of at least 63 million isis supporters—and potentially upwards of 287 million if the undecided are included in the calculation,” wrote Sierra Rayne…“These numbers suggest there are, at a minimum, hundreds of millions of isis supporters worldwide.”

And to make matters worse, scholars on Islam tell us that Muslim migration is an integral part of strategy for “remaining and expanding”—for conquest.

Stunning Win – Saudi King Salman Agrees to Support/Finance Safe Zones In Syria and Yemen

VP Pence Meets With King Abdullah II of Jordan

    ………………
Oh and Serioso, I am related by marriage to the late king. And no his wife was NOT from a Christian-Arab family as the NYT states, she was from a DRUZE family just like her dad’s cousin, my Grandfather… GOOD GRIEF the New York Times can’t even get that much straight! Also the crap at WIKI about her father is made up out of whole cloth. Granddad and her father came to the USA as companions.

BTW, Druze have some unique genes. In Druze Genes, a Look Back at the Distant Past The genetic mix is so concentrated I picked out a family of Druze at a fair because they look close enough to my family to be cousins, which of course they are. Had a nice chat with them.
    ………………

♦ ‘President Trump’s temporary pause and reassessment of visa approvals, combined with the implementation of “extreme vetting” will make our mid-east allies unhappy’… they say.

…Who are these “mid-east allies” who would be upset? Seriously, think about it.

President Trump has already formed good foreign policy relationships with: Benjamin Netanyahu (Israel), Fattah Abdel el-Sisi (Egypt), King Abdullah II (Jordan), King Salman (Saudi Arabia) and influential agent Vladimir Putin (Russia).

Syria (Bashir Assad) is trying to put a country together from the ashes of a civil war started by Obama’s support of the Muslim Brotherhood. Libya has no central government thanks to Obama/Clinton/Rice/S.Power , and is in a state of total governmental crisis. Yemen is even worse than Libya and Iran is now testing ballistic missiles.

So what ally exactly is going to be “unhappy” with a Trump policy enhanced visa scrutiny? Seriously. Genuine question. Who? Who over there is going to be unhappy?

Turkey? They are not on the restriction list. (though IMHO they should be).

See how quickly the stupidity of all that falls apart….

    Gail thanks.
So in honesty, one of my guesses was female sex parts. But what does that mean? When you see someone with a pussy hat on, what should you say about the hat? Or does one bring up female sex parts in the discussion? What kind of cute hat could guys wear, to kinda sorta bring up male bits?

You REALLY don’t want to ask that.
Gator69 @ Tony Heller’s had a graphic example of an obscene hat HERE.

    BTW, Serioso:

Do remember that I worked at a Muslim owned company and post 911 offered support (both personal and as access to guns for self protection if needed) while advising management how to avoid problems should violence against Muslims break out. (And took flack here from some folks who didn’t notice my statement of “Allies” in the story…) so it isn’t like I’m unaware of the difference between the overtly political jihadist Islam and the cooperative quiet form…

    @Larry – Re: most violent

Actually if we are looking at irrational and unintelligent violence, they are. They are the party of terrorism. But they are also like bullies. As soon as someone stands up to them, they crumble like a cheap house of cards. That is what Chomsky meant. They are simply cowardly bullies.

  79. Serioso says:

Chief, I appreciate and acknowledge your remarks about Muslims. My own remarks were directed at the posts from p.g.sharrow, who seems to think all Muslims should be barred from entry into the United States. What surprises me is that you spend so much effort criticizing me and so little criticizing him. What’s going on here?

As for your remarks on The New Yorker: I read, on a daily basis, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe, Stratfor, Geopolltical Futures, and, on a weekly or monthly basis, Science, Scientific American, MIT Tech Journal, etc. No, I do not read every word. But it’s enough to pick good stocks to invest in, and enough to gain an understanding of how the world works. I’m happy with my choices and my investments. Are you?

  80. p.g.sharrow says:

@Serioso; I am delighted you like my remarks…pg

  81. Gail Combs says:

P.G. I am delighted with your remarks. Due to my interaction with and research of muslims I have gone from very Pro-arab (after all Grandad was Arab and I gobbled up all the Black Stallion books as a kid…) to very much ANTI-muslim.

Seems familiarity DOES breed contempt. ALL of our interactions with muslims in the last 25 years have been so bad that my very laid back Hubby now refuses to do any more business with them. Their utter contempt for Dhimmi came through loud and clear.

We have worked with Hindu, Buddhists, Jews, Christians, Mormons, Koreans, Japanese, Chinese, Blacks, Hispanics, Lumbees, Cherokee… No problems. Heck one lady I pal with is Apache and the two others are Cherokee and Black. It is the POLITICAL ideology that is the problem. As an Agnostic I do not give a …. about religion.

    I, Islamophobe? is spot on.
