It’s pretty bad when the collective socialist States of South America think you have gone too far:

Venezuela threatens to withdraw from OAS regional group as pressure mounts on President Maduro

International Business Times April 26, 2017

Venezuela’s Foreign Minister Delcy Rodriguez on Tuesday (25 April) threatened that the strife-torn nation could pull out of the Organization of American States (OAS) if the group goes ahead with a possible foreign ministers meeting to discuss Venezuela’s current political unrest, which has worsened over the past three weeks.

Rodriguez told state TV that President Nicolas Maduro had instructed her to initiate Venezuela’s withdrawal from the organisation if it holds the meeting on the Venezuelan crisis without the ruling Socialist Party’s backing.

In the recent times, the Maduro-led socialist government and the OAS have not been on the same page. The regional body even called for the suspension of Venezuela from the group at the earliest. The measures were urged over Maduro’s failure in meeting with the demands of millions of citizens to hold general elections as soon as possible.

Like all good Socialists, can’t stand criticism and likes using force to maintain power even when doing a lousy job of running the place.

    Wad you mean by :“South” America? White man! :-)

    Current break-ups of economic socio-political units follows several decades of uniting these units after WWII.

    The driving force may be the “inalienable rights of people to enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” and “the right to establish or abolish governments.

    All mass near this Earth is accelerating at some (a). . Therefore:
    E²=p²c²+m²c²c²….E=root(p²c²+m²c²c²)! .. Where p is the momentum of the object.

    They are dancing on a glass floor, and it is cracking. They need an enemy to bring the people together. Trump is not being accommodating, as he is pretty much ignoring them. So the OAS becomes the scape goat.

    @Will:

    I has sayed SOUTH, not Th’ Southurn States! :-)

    @Phil:

    Sounds about right to me. Looking for someone, anyone other than himself, to blame.

    In any case, the “Neighbors” are starting to complain and even average Jose and Maria are in the streets demanding an election. I think we are entering end stage. He has oil revenue, but the rest of the economy is crashed. Eventually that will take oil production down with it. When he can’t pay the police and army, he’s toast.

    Starving people don’t care about ideology, they just want things fixed.

    OK What is more ‘socialist’ in the Americas than CANADA? :-(
    When will you be done with Venezuela? I wish to get back to the folk belief in quantum BS. Quantum stuff ‘extends’ learning, but does not ‘replace’ anything learned through experience!
    BTW: “The rising scourge of highbrow mispronunciation. It’s Ahs-wee-pay, not Asswipe”!

  7. Poly says:

    Down here SA means “South Australia”, home of idiot faux-socialist half-educated politicians who are hell bent on committing economic suicide.
    They are too ignorant and parochial to even consider Venezuela as an similar example of stupidity.

  8. gallopingcamel says:

    There is nothing like “price Control” to destroy a county’s economy.

    The solution to Venezuela’s problem is beyond obvious but it will take bloodshed to get rid of the current “Stupid Government”.

  9. Graeme No.3 says:

    Poly:
    What do you mean “half-educated”? Just because they were marked present doesn’t mean they learnt anything.
    They are too ignorant and parochial to even consider themselves as an example of stupidity. And when the collapse comes they will all go overseas with their ill gotten, if apparently legal, gains.
    I always turn the TV off when Premier Weatherill’s appears but am told I should watch his new advertisement (on taxpayers money) in which he blames the Federal government but forgets to say that he stuffed up the electricity supply in the first place, and is now spending lots of borrowed money to look as if he fixing it.

    OT – an interesting post at NTZ about infrasound:
    “German wind energy protest site windwahn.com here presents a brand new paper showing that infrasound-induced changes in brain activity is made visible and proven.”

  12. tom0mason says:

    Can there not be set-up a fund, administered by the UN and overseen by some politically neutral(?) individuals (like anyone from the Soros, Clinton and/or Gore families), whereby the rest of the world voluntarily donate a percentage of their GDP to assist Venezuela.
    Soros could remodel the education system, Clintons restructure the Banks and housing, and Gore could make a video explaining to everyone how, due to rising CO2 levels, we are now getting increases in extreme economic catastrophes happening worldwide.

    Venezuelans would then get a real feel for how much the rest of the world feels about their financial self destruction tendencies, and eventually understand that you get the government you deserve.

    @Oliver,
    E²=p²c²+m²c²c²….E=root(p²c²+m²c²c²)! .. Where p is the momentum of the object.
    Or your E = mc² can be E/c = mc, or zero = mc-E/c =. E/c -mc = zero! Also E²/c²=p²+m²c²! If Lorentz invariance\covariance is that t = -1/t, than t² = -1! That makes time imaginary, but chirality\parity is but an opposing POV! Time describes the past. Frequency describes the future. Scam describes right-now, right-cheer!
    Some quantum ‘stuff’ is interesting, most is nonsense! Nothing quantum can replace painful learning experience/practice!! I believe I will have another beer!!
    All the best! -will-

    tom0mason,
    When the price of corn is set so that the farmer loses money, the farmer abandons his farm and then the stupid government drafts town dwellers who know nothing about farming to produce food……………result starvation.

    We should not feel so superior. At the next election Bernie Sanders or someone like him may win and the same scenario will play out here.

  16. cdquarles says:

    That scenario has played out here. It has been playing, recurrently, since about 1830, roughly every 60 years.

  17. E.M.Smith says:

    It seems endemic to the human condition. Driven by greed and sloth. Folks learn a hard lesson. It sticks with one generation of kids (I.e. W.W.II and the post war boomers) then fades in the next crop (late boomers to gen x and millennials). When those raised lacking any understanding of hardship and hard work end up in power, respect for the value of labor snd ownership is lost, “gimme I want it” dominates, and collapse follows.

    Rince and repeat…

    IMHO, the basis of Kondratief Waves when coupled with a 60 year climate cycle and crop impacts.

Anything to say?
