So this song, and this video, just stick with me. It’s one of those things where the beat tends to intrude into the mind at the most unusual times, and I must come back and watch it again. Note that while this is from a US Movie (when the feathers hit) and is purporting to show Black Africans, the average skin tone is more like 1/4 black, but the hair is clearly shouting African. It’s that peculiar American mix of Plantation Owner and Slave, a generation or two on. The “Shadow Family” of the South… In Dance. Yet Nu Skool is a bit hard to nail down. A comment says New Zealand, yet web searches say a group in San Franciso, go figure… or just watch the dance and enjoy it:

FWIW, when about 12, I converted a 5 gallon ish propane tank into a giant flame thrower…. so I’m lovin’ that black guy on the front of the cart. Harder to do it now as they put liquid blocking valves in the tanks a few years back. Now instead of just inverting the tank, I’d instead make a gasoline driven one just presurized with propane…. old water heater tank, pipes, propane torch, valve hose nozzle…. ignite and enjoy 8-)
Surprised I wasn’t visited by the police… then again, only lit it off a couple of times and they were during TV Time, so maybe nobody saw me :-) Either that, or they just said “It’s just that Smith kid again…”
