Human Animal Hybrids Made

Looks like they have not let them develop beyond the micro stages, but they exist. From 2011, so “old news”, but I’d not seen the story until now.

150 human animal hybrids grown in UK labs: Embryos have been produced secretively for the past three years

Scientists have created more than 150 human-animal hybrid embryos in British laboratories.

The hybrids have been produced secretively over the past three years by researchers looking into possible cures for a wide range of diseases.
Figures seen by the Daily Mail show that 155 ‘admixed’ embryos, containing both human and animal genetic material, have been created since the introduction of the 2008 Human Fertilisation Embryology Act.

This legalised the creation of a variety of hybrids, including an animal egg fertilised by a human sperm; ‘cybrids’, in which a human nucleus is implanted into an animal cell; and ‘chimeras’, in which human cells are mixed with animal embryos.
However, he called for stricter controls on another type of embryo research, in which animal embryos are implanted with a small amount of human genetic material.

Human-animal hybrids are also created in other countries, many of which have little or no regulation.

So we have the technology to make all sorts of hybrids, but we’ll just not bother to do it ’cause it’s wrong…

So not ONE army, anywhere in the world, would be willing to create a class of soldier with the acute hearing of a top predator, the strength of a gorilla, the ability to see in the dark, etc. etc. Because it would be wrong… And who would want a tracking dog that could tell you what he smelled, or climb trees…

I’m sure everyone will follow the rules… /sarc;

Me? I want a prehensile tail, please. Oh, and about 1/2 inch long body fur would be nice…

I want to glow in the dark so I don’t have to turn on a light when I get up in the middle of the night to pee.

I’ll all be grins and giggles and gee whizes until someone creates a critter that is smarter, stronger, faster, and meaner than the top humans, all rolled into one. I just hope those creatures don’t get hold of the book, To Serve Man.

    Bye-bye humanity. Hello lab-created Klingons.

  2. On the other hand, such hybrids are likely to be designed by a committee….

I wonder where the exoskeleton gene is? Foot ball players (NFL funny shaped ball type) would not have to suit up before the games.

I’ll settle for Mike Gibson’s or Barry John’s ability to elude tacklers.

Also in the old news basket —

LifeNews commented, “The Obama administration today announced it has flung the door wide open to scientists making grisly human-animal hybrids. After overturning the Bush administration limits on forcing taxpayers to fund embryonic stem cell research, this is the latest move by President Barack Obama to manipulate and destroy human life in unethical experiments.”

Further to the above link is which informs us that –
“The NIH’s rule is now open for public comment for 30 days, after which the agency will issue a final rule and lift the moratorium. Wolinetz hopes that this will be ready in time for the grant cycle that begins in January 2017.”

And there is a “Request for Public Comment on the Proposed Changes to the NIH Guidelines for Human Stem Cell Research and the Proposed Scope of an NIH Steering Committee’s Consideration of Certain Human-Animal Chimera Research” at

I want to be a hybrid Human-Bombardier Beetle so that I can eject a hot noxious chemical spray out of my abdomen.

And back to the kitchen for another drink…

Hybrid humans? What can possibly go wrong?

  9. philjourdan says:

We can make hybrids, but the traits are harder to customize.

For now. But in the future?

    A truly brave new world.

  10. Will Janoschka says:

We don need no stinkin hybrids here!! In dis USA we gots ‘lo-brids’ instead! How many well paid FBI ‘agents’ dat mostly only keep on Strzoking der Peter?? One actually rose to become the Deputy Assistant Director of the Counterintelligence Division. DC is truly the epitome of ‘Counterintelligence’
