Maybe A New…

Some years back (about 4) I said I thought my theme song ought to be “Edge Of Glory”
https://chiefio.wordpress.com/2015/04/29/theme-song-edge-of-glory/
Mostly as I liked the song, but also as I was sort of “in that space” on the edge of glory…

Now I’m thinking maybe it ought to be “Comfortably Numb”…

Though I must “share” that I was in a text moment with my Florida Friend who was “in a bar” in / near Orlando when I shared I was watching this video and he ought to watch it at home and we could “share” being Comfortably Numb together… and he headed home and I texted him was he ready and… Then it was “Suddenly Tomorrow” and I was on the couch in the living room and the dogs were on top of me inspecting the wreckage…

So I have a new “meme” of “Suddenly Tomorrow”…

But, OK, I missed Friday and the week-end due to a sudden onset of allergies (still not localized to air, food, or WT? but under investigation…) but is that really enough to say the whole emotional schedule is upset? Well, yeah…

Just Because It Is Beautiful

“Dance”: (Yes, that is Billions of Views, with a B…)

A Cultural Comment:

I strongly recommend that anyone not familiar with Spanish take the time to learn a bit. The English culture is presently imploding (and Germany is essentiality dead already) while the Celtic Ideals live on in Hispania… How do I know? Well… (For those not familiar with Spanish, “Lento” means basically “slow” or “slowly”..)

I don’t really know, it's just "something" in the air…

FWIW: I'm of mixed German, English, Irish, French and smatterings of "other stuff" background. I grew up speaking mostly English but with a lot of Spanish and our neighbors were from France so a bit of French… Welcome to California of the 1950s… Technically I am Hispanic (former part of the Spanish Empire where I was born and grew up speaking Spanish part of the time with my "Best Friend" who was Mexican.) Has that colored my attitude toward Hispania? Certainly! And I'm fine with that. My English "quiet" balanced with some Hispanic "in your face"!

FWIW, also, my Irish component is sometimes called a "Latin" culture, as they are more from the emotive and energetic school than the "introverted and quiet" of the English. So I come by it honestly ;-)

The amusing thing is to realize that a county, or a people, can "go on" even as the culture dies; just by adopting the living and winning culture. Even if only because their own has taken a "hard left turn" into stupid and the other has not (yet).

Would I rather that English was the vehicle thorough which a non-PC Culture was conducted? Certainly. But I don't need it. Any language and culture will do… So if it is Spanish that's the "Up your's, pendejo!" culture, well, OK, I can live with that…

After all, most of my ancestors spoke German, Irish Gaelic, French, or who knows what, while my grandchild has direct Spanish and ??? in his background. Then, I was speaking Spanish from about age 6 so maybe I qualify as non-Anglo already… So enjoy the videos.

We’re a very flexible lot… Just don’t tell us we must “submit” to your BS and we’ll be fine. In any language…

Oh, and I’d love to have 1/4 the athletic / dance abilities of these folks:

It would seem my “gifts” are all above the neck and at best after 1/2 decade of practice I can do basic Karate… “Grace” is not in my wheelhouse, and “cool” was never in the building to leave it…

Given that I am a more-than-enthusiastic listener to Wagner’s “Ring”, you might assume that my “theme tune” must be something on a comparably vast and imposing scale. But … that would be to forget that I’m also a Philosophy graduate, and thus intrinsically odd. So here it is, my theme tune …
