The Soros / Globalists vs Nationalist / Populist Split Hits France / Italy

As the wave of WT? sweeps over the EU as their population wakes up to the Soros Funded Globalist Advocated BS that’s being done to them, it has reached the core of the foundation of the EU.

Both Italy and France are founding member of the EU. They have long and deep cultural and political connections. Today France recalled their Ambassador to Italy. The first time since Mussolini had Italy declare war on France in 1940 (per France24). I find “why” amusing.

After endless decrying of the 5 Star movement, The League and other nationalist / populist leaders as basically scum of the earth and stating they ought to be removed as quickly as possible (Macron called it a “Leprosy” spreading in the EU…) the same folks (Macron and friends) found it just unacceptable that an Italian leader would suggest France would be better off with Marine LePen and then went to talk to the leadership of the Yellow Vest movement.

Oh, The Horrors! /sarc; Yes, M. Macron, if YOU can talk dirt about “nationalists” and request their removal, then Nationalists and Populists can talk dirt about you and suggest your removal would be a good thing. This is the requirement of symmetrical rules. The #1 thing I demand right out the gate in ANY relationship or negotiation. I watch for it at all times. Asymmetrical rules and asymmetrical treatment gets you immediately classified as untrustworthy, a manipulator, and a cad. Then I adjust my negotiating strategy and behaviour accordingly.

So they have been trading barbs for a couple of months now, and today with the Yellow Vest meeting and the call for French Voters to support EU Parliament candidates from Marine LePen’s party; France (Macron) decided it was just All Too Much. Ambassador pulled and a nasty-gram (phrased in that oh so smooth and non-nasty Political French dialect…) sent saying, basically, ~’Stay the hell out of French Politics’. A bit rich after calling the Italian Elected Officials lepers, don’t you think?

So this will be great fun to watch as it unfolds. The Italians, in response somewhere along the line, sent out a letter saying the winds of change were blowing over the Alps… (i.e. France was not going to stay Macron Globalist for long…)

I don’t know how far back this started, but some of it might be a fascinating bit of revenge over ship building.

France nationalizes shipyard, halts plan for a ‘naval Airbus’ for now
By: Tom Kington and Pierre Tran   July 27, 2017

France has sparked a war of words with Italy by announcing plans to nationalize temporarily its STX France shipyard in a bid to halt an Italian take over,
thwarting the launch of a long awaited consolidation of Europe’s fracturing naval industry.
[…]
The announcement counters plans to launch a “naval Airbus” in Europe by the CEO of Italian state controlled yard Fincantieri, which was due to take control of STX France. That nationalization plan marks the first major industrial intervention backed by President Emmanuel Macron, a former Rothschild investment banker who has called for a roll back of the state economy.
[…]
Nevertheless, Italy’s finance and economic development ministers slammed the move on Thursday, stating “Nationalism and protectionism are not an acceptable basis for establishing relations between two great European countries.”

In April, the French government led by Macron’s predecessor, Francois Hollande, agreed to allow Italian state-controlled Fincantieri to take a 48 percent stake in the yard. The deal was done after STX’s former owner, Korea’s STX, went bankrupt and Fincantieri was named as the preferred bidder for its controlling stake. The French government intervened, handing home player DCNS 12 percent while keeping its 33.3 percent stake. To allow the Italian shareholding to rise over 50 percent, but in order to keep Fincantieri’s shareholding below 50 percent, the remaining 6.6 percent in STX France was assigned to an Italian investment body, Fondazione CR Trieste.

Then came Macron’s election, and reports that the new French administration considered Fondazione CR Trieste too close to Fincantieri. This week, France said it wanted a 50-50 shareholding split with Italy, depriving Fincantieri of its majority, a proposal immediately turned down by Rome — prompting the French to announce the nationalization plan. France has preemption rights to take over STX France as the government holds a 33.3 percent stake in the shipbuilder, based at Saint-Nazaire, western France. That plan will cost some €80 million (U.S. $93 million), which will be recovered once a deal is struck with Fincantieri, Le Maire said. The French minister is due in Rome next Tuesday for talks with his Italian counterpart Pier Carlo Padoan and Economic Development minister Carlo Calenda.

Paris’s push for 50-50 ownership reflects French concern for STX’s 7,000 dock workers if Fincantieri transfers contracts to Italy. There is also anxiety over a possible transfer of French naval technology to Fincantieri’s Chinese industrial partner.

“We consider that the French government’s decision not to honor agreements is serious and inexplicable,” Rome’s finance and economic development ministers said in their statement. An Italian industrial source said that France was ignoring the fact there was little planned overlap in activity between Fincantieri’s yards and STX. Speaking during a conference call on Wednesday, Fincantieri CEO Bono said, “The purchase of STX France could give Europe the chance to compete on the world market. The objective for us is industrial, not political.”

Referring to the previous, Korean ownership of STX, he added, “We are Italians and Europeans and cannot accept being treated worse than the Koreans.
Currently we are world leaders, we have a large number of deals underway and a large backlog. I would like to underline that in recent years Fincantieri has delivered 50 cruise ships against 12 delivered from Saint-Nazaire, and in the meantime STX France has changed ownership three times.”

OK. yes, you are Europeans… but apparently with a Chinese component? And then France has a deal, but decides to just take over the whole thing to get a different deal? And this by a Rothschild Alumni Macron? I smell a great big Globalist Rat… but which ones? ;-)

Or maybe it’s something else…

France recalls ambassador to Italy after yellow vest meeting

PARIS – France recalled its ambassador to Italy on Thursday amid rising tensions after Italy’s deputy prime minister met with French anti-government protesters and Italian leaders made critical public comments about French President Emmanuel Macron’s government.

French Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Agnes von der Muhll said the ambassador was being brought back for “consultations” and urged Italy in a statement to work to restore friendly relations worthy of “our common destiny.”

Italian Deputy Prime Minister Luigi Di Maio met with supporters of France’s yellow vest protest movement running as candidates for the European Parliament. Di Maio has said the populist 5-Star Movement he leads was ready to help the French protesters and has accused France of fueling Europe’s immigration difficulties.

That came after Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini called Macron “a terrible president” in January. He said he hoped French voters would send Macron a message during the European elections by showing their support for far-right leader Marine Le Pen, with whom Salvini is allied in European politics.
[…]

All ignoring all the “dirt” thrown at anyone who is an advocate for their Nation and People and attempting to turn Nationalist and Populist into “dirty words”. Well guess what, us Deplorables are quite happy to have our National President elected By The People be an advocate for our Nation and in the interests of our People.

So the Globalists can just go pound sand.

I suspect that things will heat up even more as a very chill wind blows over the Alps…

This is nor in the best interest of anyone… even France. It will cost the government (people) many millions, if not billions.

I see that DCNS and China is in the mix. Our stupid government in Australia awarded DCNS (now renamed Naval Group) the 50 BILLION dollar contract to build our submarines. Do you think there may be a problem here?

I am trying to find out what AOC’s “Green Deal” is really about. Some professor who claimed to have helped prepare it appeared on Tucker Carlson yesterday and said that some of the widely reported features were not included. Somehow he failed to explain what is included. Now I will have to wait until Monday unless Chiefio can explain before then.

You would expect there to be some kind of Manifesto. Maybe somebody will create one by making a transcript of AOC’s televised statements.

  9. Larry Ledwick says:

Just saw a piece on that – she badly bungled the release, as the legislative language and her FAQ sheet did not mesh. She has pulled down the pages. She may have done us a magnificent favor by outing the ridiculous thinking behind it before it was ready for prime time.

You might find the original info captured yesterday while it was still available.

I hereby do Christen the GND (formerly the “Green NEW Deal” as the Green NUTTY Deal…

When asked what GND stands for, that’s what I’m saying… and when someone says the whole “Green New Deal” at me, I’m going to indulge in the “Reflective Listening Skills” that were mandated repeatedly by SJW mucking about with corporate culture causing HR to mandate that stuff in ‘classes’ and say back to them: “The GND, the Green Nutty Deal? Oh, yes, I know about it.”

  13. E.M.Smith says:

I like how this is just blandly tossed in (Daily Caller link):

Clack’s study estimated that completely decarbonizing the grid, including the use of nuclear power and carbon capture, would cost somewhere between $20 trillion and $40 trillion by 2050.

That’s the STARTING guess / price. You know with government “help” it will be between 2 and 10 times that much. But accept it at face value.

The USA Feds are already $20 Trillion in debt. NY just proved that raising tax rates from here gets less tax revenue. Just where is that $40 TRILLION to come from, eh?

  16. gallopingcamel says:

No doubt the “New Green Deal” will be thoroughly debunked point by point given that it based on “Junk Science” and “Fake News”. However you have to love the effrontery of statements like this one on page 3:
    “(A) hourly wages overall stagnating since the 1970s despite increased worker productivity;

It is true that wages have stagnated since the 1970s but it has nothing to do with fossil fuels. Reagan did his amnesty deal to get funds to secure the border. The amnesty happened but border security did not and subsequent administrations did nothing to stem the flow of immigrants. NumbersUSA shows the shocking statistics:

You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that wages remain low because the ruling elites like cheap labor and they have worked to make our border increasingly porous. Yet AOC wants to open the flood gates even wider while abolishing ICE.

Time to push back strongly against this lunacy.

  17. gallopingcamel says:

I am still wading through AOC’s loony document…..there is another gem on page 9:

“(J) removing greenhouse gases from the atmosphere and reducing pollution, including by restoring natural ecosystems through proven low-tech solutions that increase soil carbon storage, such as preservation and afforestation;”

I am in favor of reducing pollution which is why I worked so hard to bring fish back to the Thames river in London. However anyone who thinks Carbon Dioxide is a pollutant is as big a dunce at the EPA’s Lisa Jackson.

What is the justification for “removing greenhouse gases”? The two main factors that determine surface temperature on rocky bodies are TSI (Total Solar irradiance) and pressure.

The #1 “greenhouse gas” on Earth is the nitrogen that makes up ~78% of our atmosphere. The mass of nitrogen is ~4 X 10^18 kg so there is not much that us humans can do to change it.

The #2 “greenhouse gas” is oxygen that accounts for ~21% of our atmosphere. Is there anyone who wants to reduce the amount of oxygen?

There was no oxygen in the atmosphere 4 billion years ago. Bacterial life started to to produce oxygen about 3.5 billion years ago but this was all absorbed in the oceans to oxidize iron salts. About 2.4 billion years ago oxygen started to be released into the atmosphere reaching a peak concentration of ~35% roughly 300 million years ago. These high oxygen levels favored much larger flying animals than today’s birds. I am for more oxygen rather than less….I want to see a flying pig or Dumbo. If you disagree please explain why…..imagine the forest fires when the concentration of oxygen hits 50%!

The #3 “greenhouse gas” is water vapor which makes up 0.4% of our atmosphere on average. Given that we have 1.4 × 10^21 kg of water on this planet how do you go about reducing that? Maybe a better question is why would you even want to try? Surely a warmer Earth is better than a cooler Earth.

The #4 “greenhouse gas” is Carbon Dioxide that makes up about 0.04% of our atmosphere. It has a puny effect on temperature compared to water vapor. Given that this gas is such a minor component of the atmosphere its effect on temperature is so tiny that it is hard to separate from other factors such as ice fields, ocean currents, polar vortices, cosmic rays, volcanoes, Milankovic cycles and much more.

There are strong arguments for increasing the CO2 concentration given that plants grow faster when CO2 increases and they become more resistant to drought. Carbon Dioxide “Greens” the planet so we need more rather than less. I really wish that CO2 was significant contributor to “Global Warming”. If that was so, I would encourage everyone to increase their “Carbon Footprint” to save the planet from the next ice age that will surely kill at least half of humanity

I am watching Trump’s El Paso speech on FOX. The entire thing shows Trump plus about 20 supporters. You can hear the huge crowd but why were there no shots showing the full crowd?

Trump said that there were tens of thousands watching TV screens outside the arena. Why did we not see any of that?

Trump said the Beto O’Rourke counter rally attracted a small crowd. So why were there no shots of that? Surely someone recorded it on a cell phone.

We complain about the dishonest MSM but who is holding a gun to the heads of the producers at FOX NEWS? Why are they dishonest?

BTW, for Fox, the issue is that The Kids are being put in places of authority to take over from The Old Man who is reaching EOL. The Kids have a dilemma. They whole motif and brand is Conservative. They are middle-left Moneyed Brats and lust after Virtue Signaling to their Left Wing peers.

So bit by bit they are moving Fox to centrist (and eventually to Left Wing Crap… IMHO).

I’m slowly abandoning Fox as they convert to Just Another YSM Site… That it isn’t on Roku kind of did most of it though ;-)

  23. gallopingcamel says:

    @Chiefio,
“I’m slowly abandoning Fox as they convert to Just Another YSM Site… ”

I simply don’t get it. How can veering to the Left be a successful business model for “Media”? Fox claimed to be “Fair & Balanced”. If they stuck with that and meant it they would eat the other “Media”.

Here in the USA we are becoming the good old USSR. You can choose Pravda or Izvestia.

  24. gallopingcamel says:

Maybe “New Media” will emerge that will earn our trust. Take a look at the Newsguard start up, master minded by Steven Brill & Gordon Crovitz.

These people realize that a lie is half way around the world before the truth can get its boots on. Thus lies about the Covington students go viral in a matter or hours and the truth emerges weeks later. Newsguard understands that it is impractical to “fact check” news that appears on social media in real time so they want to rate sources based on prior performance.

A source that is trustworthy will be tagged with a green marker and one that is not with a red marker. It seems like a sensible idea but will it catch on? Maybe there will be other colors such as orange.

  25. E.M.Smith says:

    @G.C.:

The problem with such rating is “who decides?”. We have that issue right now on various platforms where anything “conservative” gets banned / down rated.

FWIW, a good friend of my Daughter has the job of looking for “bad things” at one of those companies. She is a wonderful young woman, but leans significantly left… So what gets flagged as “offensive” is anything that would offend a 20-something left leaning woman…

I think the real answer will be what is happening in the case of Covington. Over 60 letters sent out by their lawyers telling media outlets to sequester any and all communications about it for “discovery” for the coming slander and libel suits. Once they start dropping $Million / botched story, then they will fact check and get it right.

  26. gallopingcamel says:

    @Chiefio,
Tom Fitton and his colleagues at Judicial Watch go with the evidence regardless of who is abusing power. Because they want to expose the truth regardless of where the chips may fall they are less effective than the ACLU that has become increasingly blind to transgressions by the Left in general and the “Deep State” in particular.

Judicial Watch works to make government more transparent using FOIA laws. These are the people who really care about truth and justice as defined by Plato. They deserve our support.
