Because I Remember I Do Not Remember…

Yeah, some music videos. Why? Why not?

It’s been a long couple of weeks. I’ve made about a hundred graphs. I’ve shown that “Global Warming” isn’t global and isn’t warming and that it is mostly a matter of controlling the “volatility” of stations that are in the record in any given year. And I’ve made a decent start on GHCN v4.

So I figure it’s time for some “kick back” and a bottle (or two?) of vino. Con musica.

Yes, these are Spanish Language Videos. If you don’t speak Spanish enjoy the music, or learn some Spanish. What can I say, this music speaks to me more than most, so it is what I enjoy. Yo estoy Hispanico, no? It would seem more than I’d realized…

So if you don’t speak Spanish? Learn.

Because it is Hot

Because I really like the mirror costumes and the whole style thing. “No Me Acuerdo” I do not remember… que paso … what happened…

Thalia y Natti Natasha…

Because it speaks to me, in a strange kind of way

Because I like the idea of “slowly”

Lento “Slowly”

Just Because…. Hey, it is Gloria Trevi… Moving on..

Yo Soy Su Vida – I am your life.

Because it is beautiful

Yeah, I know I’ve posted this one a couple of times. But it deserves it. While I really like the lead dancer in red, I also like that they start with some “Fat Chicks” having a good time dancing as well. It is just a “riot of fun”… IMHO.

Hey, with 2.7 BILLION views, it must have something going for it other then me ;-)

Ahhhhh, EM, Thanks for the Spanish videos… But my heart is taken already by the music of tango. And in case you have never heard or seen the modern incarnation of Argentine tango, here is a link to Poema con Magdalena Gutierrez y German Ballejo

De Nada, Bill in Oz. Porque es extraño …

Porque me encanta bailar … y la chica de color se mueve …

  4. E.M.Smith says:

Because it is cute, in a Cougar fond memory kind of way ;-)

Because everyone likes a party… I think the dancers are the same ones as in Bailando above, but in body paint… Gente De Zona are from Cuba while Marc Anthony is from New York (from Puerto Rico)… As I’m now an Honorary Puerto Rican (hey! the grandson is part Puerto Rican, eh! Besides, I like the rum ;-0 …) I’m good to go with this kind of music / street theatre…

  6. E.M.Smith says:

    Because… Because… well… lingerie…

    El Mentiroso – the Liar…

(Yes, I like Gente de Zona…)

Si el tango fue extrano para mi al primero ! Pero ahora es un viejo amigo.

    Traveling Wlburys? Who knew…

YouTube puts up the strangest connections… from several hours of Spanish Language music for 20 somethings it jumps to that?

The Traveling Wilburys (sometimes shortened to the Wilburys) were a British–American supergroup consisting of Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty. Originating from an idea discussed by Harrison and Lynne during the sessions for Harrison’s 1987 album Cloud Nine, the band formed in April 1988 after the five members united to record a bonus track for Harrison’s next European single. When this collaboration, “Handle with Care”, was deemed too good for such a limited release, the group agreed to record a full album, titled Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1. Following Orbison’s death in December 1988, the band released a second album, which they titled Traveling Wilburys Vol. 3, in 1990.

The project’s work received much anticipation given the diverse nature of the singer-songwriters. The band members adopted tongue-in-cheek pseudonyms as half-brothers from a fictional Wilbury family of travelling musicians. Vol. 1 was a critical and commercial success, helping to revitalise Dylan’s and Petty’s respective careers. In 1990, the album won the Grammy for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group.

Although Harrison envisaged a series of Wilburys albums and a film about the band, produced through his company HandMade, the group’s final release was in February 1991. After several years of unavailability, the two Wilburys albums were reissued by the Harrison estate in the 2007 box set The Traveling Wilburys Collection. The box set included a DVD containing their music videos and a documentary on the band’s formation.

Just OMG how did I never know about them… Oh, yeah, that was when my kids were being born and I was working all the time and not sleeping and…

Really? K-Pop? Yeah, I like it too… but … not a Guy Band? I mean… I know some girls who like girls and I like girls but… Not a Guy K-Pop bit? OK… I can live with that. Heck, I can even like it; ;-) I DID post a Gay Guy video after all ;-) Surely that buys me some lingerie, er, “Girl Band” time ;-)

    Or have I mis-gendered based on French expectations?… Not that I have a … a … not that I’m really picky… er, um, well I am a little, but, oh damn… ;-)

  10. Sera says:

Let’s just say that I like the high production values of the girl bands. The boy bands seem to have some controversy these days…

  11. Larry Ledwick says:

I had never heard of the The Traveling Wilburys either – same excuse that was a time period in my life when lots of other things were going on and I did not have time for things like just sitting and enjoying music.

  12. E.M.Smith says:

I can tell this is going to be a “thing” for me…

  13. E.M.Smith says:

Well, I do have to admit that the “Girl Bands” are generally better technically… but I also have a small problem that I’m, er, “biased” toward girl bands… put girls in skimpy costumes doing anything to music and, well, my critical abilities are just gone…

What can I say, it’s a “Guy Thing”…. Brain stops when wiggle happens. Sorry. Just a fact….

  14. E.M.Smith says:

The Traveling Wilburys impresses me as being 4 Bottom Tenors on Guitar and not a lot of variation… Nice for a song or two but lacking in range…

Anything to say?
