There Is No Climate Crisis

Another very good video from Tony Heller. This time looking at all the predictions of Doom In Our Time that have come up empty. Lots of good charts, graphs and data too.

@Taz; Sorry, but leverage is the name of the game in farming. HIGH stakes gambling! The amounts of money required to farm a crop year is staggering and the ROI can be slim to none. Not a game for the faint of heart…pg

  2. spetzer86 says:

Yet farmers keep doing it. The millions of dollars tied up in equipment that might only be used for a month a year is amazing.

  3. Larry Ledwick says:

That is why many of them use contract services for things like harvest, rather than owning the equipment out right.
Much better to have a specialized crew and equipment come in and harvest the whole crop in a matter of hours for a portion of the crop, than let very expensive equipment sit idle for much of the year.

  4. Power Grab says:

But if your wheat crop has lots of weeds and sunflowers in it, the custom harvesters won’t want to deal with it. Or if you planted it too late and it is less than prime.

Then there’s the year the custom harvesters brought rye in their combines and it came up with the wheat. We had to walk through the fields and cut off the rye and haul it off in trash bags.

What’s the old joke? How do you make a small fortune farming? Answer: Start with a large fortune!

  5. philjourdan says:

The mazie hirrono said it. It is a religion so forget science. It is all about faith.

  6. Another Ian says:

I was at a meeting recently and one of the things that came up was that riskiest area for agriculture is Australia

  7. Larry Ledwick says:

Aaah fond memories too bad Paul was smoking dope.
(disclosure at the time I thought he was revealing an ominous truth – sort of like the climate catastrophe kids of today)

  8. William in Oz says:

    Just a test !

  9. cdquarles says:

A quibble. Religion is not the only thing in life that requires faith. Faith is certain knowledge of things you can’t know any other way. Embodied life itself requires faith (here talking about the rules of chemistry) as well as any science. Ontology (that a thing is) versus epistemology (how we know it is). So when someone talks to me about my religious faith, it is grounded in logic (the relationship between propositions, somewhat regardless of the truth value of the propositions, especially contingent ones). Think if C follows logically, as either an induction or a deduction, from if A or B is true, then C is true.

  10. Larry Ledwick says:

And the beat goes on! Drums keep pounding a rhythm to the brain – La de de, La de da

Corruption keeps on growing every day!

  11. Larry Ledwick says:

Iran now on internet lock down.

I think Iran is about to have a really bad day or week or month soon.

  12. Larry Ledwick says:

Intel is going to bring out a general purpose GPU targeted at super computer builders.
“SC19 Intel today confirmed the identity of the GPU-based math-accelerator chip it will offer to supercomputer builders.”

  13. Larry Ledwick says:

Under get woke go broke – it looks like the Drudge Report’s recent turn to the left and never Trump land, has put it in a death spiral of dropping web traffic. Lots of people who used to be regular viewers or subscribers to them have dropped them or unfollowed their feeds on twitter etc.

  14. philjourdan says:

@CD – You missed the point. Science is not grounded in faith. Religion is. Regardless of how logical you are or the logic you want to use to profess your religion, the fact remains that you cannot prove the tenets of your religion. That is not the case with science. Some things you assume, but then you test in science. You do not take things as fact in science without proof. YOu do in religion,

  15. E.M.Smith says:

So… I’ll have to check Al Jazeera coverage of Iran…

  16. E.M.Smith says:

RT is reporting that Denmark has instituted border checks on the bridge to Sweden due to a crime wave and explisions traced to gangs of 1st, 2nd, and some 3rd generation “Migrants” sweden at something lije 131 explosions this year (80 something last year).

So borders going back up in Europe as they disvover what unchecked migration from 3rd world places means.

  17. A C Osborn says:

More on the Green’s causing fires, this time a real injustice.

Sent to prison for protecting his own property on his own land.

  18. E.M.Smith says:

I find it just amazing that a farmer can be sent to jail for ploughing his own land…

I wonder if there’s a loophole where instead of a “Fire Break” you could run a plough / seeder over it carefully “planting” one non-viable seed per sq. meter and claim you were just planting… Something like 1 corn stalk / m^2 where you know it won’t sprout in the dry… but you can say “Well, I wanted to try some corn and see how it would do, so just did a strip of it.”… Can you be found guilty of Stupid? Just a thought….
