CNN Cuomo Fake News Quarantine – Not!

Looks like CNN has been running fake quaratine stories / reports from Cris Cuomo. I watched one. But while supposedly in quarantine alone, he was spotted on another property with his family.

After insulting the guy on the bike, Cuomo has also collected a lawsuit… so hard to deny and say he wasn’t there.

    So is his Sonny going to arrest Fredo for breaking his edict?

  2. H.R. says:

    Related to the unconstitutional draconian measures in the State of NY and other States, did anyone or everyone hear about the protest in Michigan today? LEOs estimated 10,000 vehicles. Awesome!

    Also, 3 or 4 Sheriffs in Michigan wrote Governor Half-Whitmer that they would not be enforcing any of the unconstitutional EOs, and if there were violations of other edicts not clearly unconstitutional, they would evaluate the supposed violation on a case by case basis and apply common sense in favor of the stopped citizen’s rights. Some people may do ‘stooped stuff’ and the right thing may be to bring them in, tell to cut it out and move along, or make sure they get home if that’s the best solution. Awesome!

    We’re having a protest at our State Capitol this weekend. I am torn between attending or not because I’m in a high risk group.

    So do I leave it to the young ‘uns who are likely to be unaffected by the Chinese Virus but have been majorly, dreadfully affected economically?

    Or do I go down and join them as “better to die standing up than on your knees”?

    I’m really mulling this over, especially in light of that bit Another Ian posted on another thread that most of the transmission was traced to close quarters indoors and hardly any cases from people outdoors.

    Maybe I can just drive down and add my presence to the traffic count. That would help.

    Directly to the article above, either our “betters” are totally stupid or they know something we don’t know and are cynically, hypocritically, and knowingly ignoring the Rules For Serfs.

    I tend to come down on the Totally Stupid side. I have never been impressed with the intelligence of 99% of politicians. A few surprise me. Most are cunning in their self-dealing, but not smart.

  3. H.R. says:

    Thanks, Sera. That puts paid to my question. Chris Cuomo is stupid and has a severe case of elitistitis.

    Elitistitis: “I am somebody. The rules are for the little people, not me. Why should I care if I’m infectious and the serfs are dropping dead left and right in the wake of my passing? The nearly-human peons should count themselves extremely fortunate that they even got to be in my magnificent presence before they died.”

    Yeah, that sounds about right.

  4. Bill In Oz says:

    EM have you seen this from Epoch Times in New York about the origins of the Corona 19 virus? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bXWGxhd7ic
    Epoch Times was set up by Chinese Falun Gong exiles in the USA.

  5. E.M.Smith says:

    @Bill In Oz:

    I’ve not watched it yet. I have been catching the Epoch Times news shows. They seem to have good inside information on China. The have a chip on their shoulder (Falun Gong persecution) but that seems to drive vigor not bias. A tenet of Falun Gong is truthfulness.

    From their other news, I gather they think it is a cover-up of a lab leak. With which I agree.

    After morning coffee I’ll watch the summary show in that link.

    @Sera & H.R.:

    It does seem a consistent failure of “elites”. How many weekly Corona Task Force broadcasts had the entire leadership team crowded on stage with POTUS and then a packed room of reporters? Took them weeks, and Boris going down, to realize they were at risk too. DESPITE the team including M.D.s who made the “distancing” rules.

    Arrogance. It’s lethal.

    @PhilJordan:

    I expect, at most, brotherly condescension….

    @H.R.:

    Tough one… I’d only enter a crowd with N95 or better mask, wrap around glasses, and gloves, but the “innocently in traffic” has a certain charm.

  7. Ed Forbes says:

    Orders by the Governors of the States for blanket house arrest of their citizens, known as “lockdowns”, is unconstitutional as the United States are in neither Rebellion or Invasion.
    .
    US Constitution, Article 1, Section 9, Clause 2.
    “The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it.”

  8. E.M.Smith says:

    @Bill In Oz:

    Watched it. A very nice presentation of many bits we’ve seen scattered around. Good to see them all, in one place. A couple of new bits too. Like at about 47 minutes where the former C.I.A. guy describes something I’ve called “negative space” analysis. What ought to be, but isn’t. Nice to know others have seen that utility. Then the org charts of Party Family control. Citations of literature.

    IMHO, they have it pretty much right. Only some few small details are unsupported. Like the notion a particular lab Director released the virus. Only in the sense of being in charge when the grad student worker made a mistake, in my opinion…

    But the overall flow and conclusion? Yup. China biolab, with dual use and military connections, playing with SARS and similar, with 2 goals, vaccine to protect China and pandemic for others, had the virus escape while a “work in progress” and is now trying to cover it up WHILE helping it hurt The West. Half a loaf of the original goal. Thus the broken PPE & test kits sold to the west and hiding virus technical knowledge they had.

    But right now we are all in the soup. China trying to recover economically first for better pole position in economuc warfare, but having recurrent outbreaks / lockdowns it is hiding. EU flailing about mid-disintegration. USA headed for full infection and hoping biotech miracles will fix bureaucratic bungling.

    At least it is interesting to watch from The Bunker, bottle of Ivermectin in hand…

  9. chris says:

    They shut down all Christian Easter services. Who wants to make a bet Mosques won’t be close for Ramadan starting Apr 23rd?

  10. Steven Fraser says:

    Elitistitis – I thought it was Elitiasis – swelling of the Elite sense of self-importance.

  11. Steven Fraser says:

    @EM: HEre is a wrinkle: If correct, the Center for Medicare Services, responsible for reimbursement to hospitals, has bumped up the $ compensation for COVID patients, and tripled it for Intubation. At the same time, the CDC has changed the rules so that COVID can be a cause of death, even if it was not tested for….

    https://powderedwigsociety.com/cooking-the-covid-books/

    The fix is in.

  12. p.g.sharrow says:

    It appears to me that the yearly death rate is down for the season because the hospitals are closed to all elective procedures. Death rates for all other causes are way down as Covid-19 is elevated.

  13. philjourdan says:

    I expect, at most, brotherly condescension….

    Las Vegas is shut down.

  14. E.M.Smith says:

    Per the Task Force mtg today, they are starting a State by State restart / opening of economic activity.

    Good news: About 7 midwest States w/ near zero current cases can start the slow phased restart tomorrow.

    Bad news: “Vulnerable populations” (I.e. old folks) get to continue to do the shelter in place and social distancing thing.

    They will be looking for resurgence in any area and “junping on it” with lots of testing and conract tracing (I.e. what they ought to have been doing from the start.)

    So folks in Wyoming and North Dakota can rejoice. Those of us in California, Florida, New York, not so much…

  15. ossqss says:

    The decision here is at a county level, facilitated by the Governor from what I understand EM. Florida cases are pretty much concentrated to a few areas. Many have much smaller impacts. From my very general observations, I think temperature may indeed play a role. Keep in mind, lock downs in an urban area is typically done in AC in stackem and packem areas. Many don’t have yards to even get Sun if in multi story apartments.

    Anyhow, the curve is showing in the data for the state, and county levels here. You can drill this site to the county and zip code level and at least see what decision makers are looking at. No mention of daily testing that could certainly alter daily results, but we definitely can see much in the way of trends over time from such.

    Lots of noise in it, but also much clarity. Most areas impacted near me have been assisted living facilities.

    BTW, this site also gives many other characteristics of the impacted in basic form. Statistically significant data on most being women rather than men as an example in this neck of the woods. I am in the SRQ area, you can see it there in both counties involved. Like I said prior, we will learn much through reanalysis in the end.
