I’d been pondering the various indicia that the present round of Antifa Riots were being managed. They broke out simultaneously and on queue for news coverage accross many Staes coast to coast. They had pre-positioned assets in place (palettes of bricks, bottles of water and gasoline, “troops” in their Black Bloc uniforms, etc), hitting political and culturally iconic targets, lots of pre-made slogan signs of the same sort and context.
Just a huge shouting “SET UP!” context. Very little organic, home grown or local about it.
Phil put forward the idea this was the result of folks being in lockdown too long. The only point where we really disagree is on emphasis. He says “Antifa took advantage” of folks ready to blow anyway. From my point of view, Antifa instigated and escalated into a riot, coordinated and operated it, once the population was ready enough (but unlikely to act on their own).
