Not Friday… But What 1/2 L of Wine Gets You:

Due to a series of Unfortunate Events, my back asking for a little anesthesia please, and reaching a bit of an “End Of The Line” on the current absurdity called the United States Federal Government: I’ve chosen to work my way up to 1/2 L of wine (on the way to 1 L?) and now, in this state of understanding, see the world in a whole new light.

Screw it.

So how in Hell can someone just suck it up and accept that the Idiot beat the Asshole? One can’t, since we all know the Idiot had Special Help from the massive machine vote in his favor…

So just kick back and float along hoping that it will all turn out OK in the end…

For purists, the Marley version (better music and verse, no videos):

Or take a different approach? I didn’t make this mess after all:

You ever have one of Those Days?

Well I can’t decide if I’m the Geek in White Shoes, or the guy with a Beer & Bike issue… so maybe not…

Though the alternative to Tequila is not so…

I suppose one could go full on Cuba…

Or maybe not…

I’m more in the Mex-American Tradition:

Why? Because the Hispanic traditions are very very close to the Celtic traditions that have shaped America from the beginning. To what we are now:

I guess it is just the End Of The Line…

    Whoa!

    D-u-u-u-u-d-e…. stick with the Scotch. That wine has you all over the place.
    😜

    When our world is all over the place, how are we expected to act?

  4. p.g.sharrow says:

    I guess it is just the “End of the Line” LOL

  5. Pinroot says:

    Sounds like me on Friday nights. You’ve got to give in to madness sometimes.

  6. The True Nolan says:

    Thumbs up on the wine for back pain. I used to have excruciating back pains (much more rare and less painful now) and the doctor-prescribed pills and exercises did NOTHING to help. I don’t usually drink, but I found out that a big glass of wine helped more than all the prescriptions did. Probably safer as well.

  7. E.M.Smith says:

    @H.R.:

    Well, I’m an eclectic kind of guy, wine or not. These are some of my favorite tunes in both languages that I use the most. (PeeWee Herman is new to me in this song… trying for a new career after “blowing’ the kiddie one?)

    FWIW, the intended “arc” is from our current insanity (living under Usurper Joe and the Coup Democrats) through the “anesthesia” we’re being fed “don’t worry…” to the fact we didn’t start this mess… then the dip into Spanish / Mexican is as reminder of where this path leads, and the results… and then ending on the question of “End of the Line”?…

    Maybe it’s an arc only visible to me…

  8. H.R. says:

    @E.M. – After some comments, it’s clear the was a trajectory and everyone else got it.

    I played 3 of the videos, including End of The Line, which had cc (like, good song). The other two didn’t. I play videos without sound, so if no cc is available, I’m just checking out the visuals.

    You can’t take everyone into account. I’m going probably going to slip through the cracks when you post music videos. I do watch some of them for the visuals and some have cc, so I can read what you’re trying to convey.

    It was quite the mix, so I couldn’t pass up the chance to give you a poke in the ribs that it was due to wine instead of Scotch.

  9. DonM says:

    off topic (although I don’t really know what the topic is)

    Valarie Jarrett called ‘it’ a knife fight.

    So, by the same logic:

    * Steve Scalise (and three others) took a break from their scheduled softball practice and got into a gun fight. Scalise was injured in the gun fight that he was participating in.

    *A Charlottesville rally (protest against historic events) morphed into an automobile fight, resulting in multiple injuries. The uninjured participant in the fight was arrested.

    *Reginald Denny got into a brick fight with Damien Williams during the Rodney King riots. Immediately before the brick fight with Williams, Denny was also in a blunt object fight & a claw hammer fight with two other associates of Williams.

    *In 2010 IRS agent Vernon Hunter died when he got into an airplane fight with Andrew stack. Andrew Stack was also killed in the fight and numerous IRS employees were also injured in the fight.

  10. Taz says:

    All could be fine.

    Just put politicians in the stadium – saying simply “Decimation”.

    But nooooooooo. You hafta mock them instead. Mocking does Nothing.I want real entertainment!

    When we run out of politicians we have journalists, Hollywood people and BLM…….

  11. E.M.Smith says:

    @Taz:

    Oh how I long for some kind, any kind, of “Feedback loop” to our “Overlords”…

    Last time such was enacted was, IIRC, the origin point of the French Haircut…

    @DonM:

    The topic is that my gruntle was dissed and I’m not happy about shit. IF your gruntle needs some “relief” to get rid of it’s “dissing” then it is “On Topic”…

    @H.R.:

    No worries. I know in advance that when I post a multi-lingual arc of music I’ll lose about 80% of folks at the first language transition. Then there’s CC as an added issue.

    Like if I posted some of my favored French Videos, I’m sure there’s nothing at all in it for you:

    82 Million views. but what do they know…

  12. H.R. says:

    LOL!

    Yah but… can she sing?

    Who knows? Who cares!

  13. philjourdan says:

    @EMS – Bobby McFarin is a big Anti Trumpist They are invisable to me. Re: Youngkin

  14. E.M.Smith says:

    @Phil:

    Youngkin? Bobby McFarin?

    I know not of these things. What / who are they?

  15. YMMV says:

    That was a very good 1/2 L

    Nathalie Cardone intrigues me. Born in France, of Sicilian father and and Spanish mother.
    “Hasta Siempre,” is a 1965 song by Cuban composer Carlos Puebla. Everybody has done it.
    Lyrics and translation are here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hasta_Siempre,_Comandante
    The version in the video is somewhat condensed.

    ¡Hasta siempre, Comandante! Che, on hats and t-shirts everywhere!

    Funny thing, most of the comments to that video on YT are in Russian, with some from Turkey, Afghanistan, Algeria, Palestine, …

    In Cuba, the serfs can’t revolt because they are already living in paradise.

  16. H.R. says:

    “In Cuba, the serfs can’t revolt because they are already living in paradise.”

    Perfect description of perfect misery.

  17. philjourdan says:

    EMS – re – who is:

    Youngkin – a faux conservative running as a Trump republican for Va Governor, He gets the nomination (he is a riich man), I will not vote for him

    Bobby McFarin – not running but same animal.

  18. Pinroot says:

    It’s actually Friday night and I’m watching/listening to this (I always liked John Wetton’s voice):

    To be followed with those pesky Marx brothers:

    Have a good Friday evening, everyone!
