RE: speed – I’ve heard that it can also cause paranoia (which could result in angry outbursts and rage in some people). I would guess that a lot of the problems come from a lack of good sleep for heavy users, but that’s just me guessing…

What I foresee is that CNN/PMSNBC will also have a ratings decline. There is no Trump to have the daily dose of “Orange Man Bad because he said or did such-and-such today.”
I suppose they can switch to Lefty Hope Porn: “Trump will be arrested any day now.” I don’t see how that will increase viewership and it may just drive some away. Okay. It probably won’t drive their core viewership away. They live off of angry emotion. A daily dose of “Yeah!, We’re gonna get him today,” might keep them tuning in. Their core viewers are not the poster children for objective, rational thought, so it just might work. CNN’s success depends on continuously driving cars past dogs that chase cars.
re: the news – I’m not sure what to expect, since I don’t watch MSM. I would expect that after a few months they won’t have Trump to kick around anymore (at least not on a constant basis), so XiNN and MSDNC (along with all the other ‘news’ networks) will segue to his supporters (both in and out of government). They’ll sing Biden’s praises, and ramp up the rhetoric that anyone who disagrees with the left is a racist white supremacist Islamophobic homophobic transphobic fascist (ie, Trump supporters). Fox will either have to join in with them or go against the flow. The left already hates them, and still hates them even though they’ve managed to piss off their base, but I expect they’ll continue on down the path they’ve chosen. Hopefully a few of their hosts are working on contingency plans. Overall though, they’ll continue to do whatever is necessary to keep us divided.
I remember that the left were so afraid when Trump was elected that he was going to put gays, Muslims, etc., in concentration/re-education camps, and now they’re openly taking about how to handle the 70+ million Trump supporters, suggesting things like “de-programming”. How do you deprogram that many people? The most efficient way would be to round them all up and put them in camps. (Any time you hear someone on the left say that they’re afraid that someone in power on the right is going to do X, you can rest assured that they’re afraid because they know that X is exactly what they would do if they were in power.)
On the other hand, Biden’s been in two days, and he’s already pissed off a sizable number of feminists with his EO that lets guys go into the girl’s restrooms and dressing rooms. What could possibly go wrong? And Antifa is still ‘peacefully protesting’ in Washington state, saying “We don’t want Biden, we want revenge” and they’ve broken out windows of the local office of the DNC. I saw one picture that contained the spray painted words Fsck Biden. So not everyone is happy with what they voted for, and this is just day two. To sum it up,I expect it to get worse before it gets better.

A couple of days ago I went looking for news about the rest of the world. Only place I could find any that was close to honest was RT and Al Jazeera. It’s a pretty sad day in news when you have to get it from Russia and The Middle East…
The UK stuff was rather PC and Covid Paranoid (Sky UK), the Australian stuff was looking at America and a little of Australia, the E.U. was way wild political (France24), and then there was RT, talking calmly about changes in the world and Al Jazeera covering the middle east fairly well, with decent POV on the world too.

CNN’s Airport Captive Audience has just been liberated, so their ratings MUST take a hit and a fairly big one from that alone.
I’ve been a hard core News Junkie. I’m now reduced to about 5 sources, not one of them a ‘regular TV’ channel at all. I “kissed off” CNN, pMSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC some long time ago. I’ve now added FOX and the excerpts from Fox that I’d been getting via EewTube.
Just way too much of it was clearly “Propaganda for effect” and mostly emotional manipulation gush and click bait at that.
When they don’t tell you a half dozen European governments have turned over in a month, but do spend 3 years breathlessly pushing a flat out lie (Muh Russia!) they are NOT news at all. So I’m done with them.
I’m pretty sure an ever increasing number of folks are going to just pack it in and watch movies or internet cat videos instead. At least the cats are honest…
As it stands now, I’ve been removed from “The Daily Indoctrination” long enough that when I DO dip a toe in and watch even just a couple of minutes (or a link someone posts) I end up in CringeLand in the first few seconds… They slow walked so far away from normal at a slow enough rate they didn’t notice, but it’s just glaring on a sudden immersion.
The simple fact is that they don’t have Trump to attract eyeballs (hate filled or otherwise) and Biden is NOT interesting. Not as a person. Not in what he does. Certainly not in what he says. He is hard to watch at best. That leaves them with their Talking Heads full of nothing or cage matches between opposing ‘guests’ with the anchor taking sides. That’s not interesting or entertaining either.
I just don’t see where they have anything to sell that your typical person is wanting to buy. Climate Fear Porn? Chinese Wuhan Covid Fear Porn? Biden The God Hopium? Frankly, I’d rather watch paint dry. At least it doesn’t offend me.
