China has announced it will stop buying ALL US Ag Products. It breathlessly says that’s $9 BILLION this year!!! HORRORS!!!!! NOTHING can cope with that…. But fails to point out US Ag sector, EXPORTS only, are about $143 Billion.

So what’s that as percentage? A bit over 6% or inside the range of year over year variation in crop yields… Now inflate that to the total USA production not just the export share…
Oh, yeah, and agricultural products are fungible. So China will need to go buy their imports somewhere else (say, Brazil or Australia) taking that supply off the market and some other buyers will then be left looking for product and find, oh, the USA has it for sale… Net result will be a brief frictional event and then a change of a lot of buying and shipping plans…

Speaking of Over the Top, I recorded the Attenborough narrated Climate Change-the Facts broadcast last night on “our ABC” (BBC Lite). I gave up after 3 minutes when it got to the Swedish zombie.
They’ve gone hysterical. This could be dangerous especially as their chosen one lost the recent election unexpectedly. The new Government is demanding more reliable supply from wind turbines and the Australian Electricity Regulator has launched court action against 4 wind farm operators over the 2016 South Australian State-wide blackout.
If you know anything about American prisons, given what Epstein was accused of, he was definitely at risk in any jail/prison, especially if not in a secure medical facility or solitary. Guarding him would be expected to be seriously exhausting, costly; and, since contraband can’t be kept out of them, could easily result in death, by suicide or otherwise. Sure enough, Beth, the reportage should be alleged suicide. That it is not is telling.
