Friday Music

I do not expect folks to like all I like. I do expect to challeng folks to open their acceptability window a bit wider.

I love this old black woman I do not know. Why? Because she genuinely and openly asks me “kiss me, kiss me a lot”…

    Chiefio:

    Delete those two videos please. I’m trying to post Seven Nation Army- version by PostModernJukebox, but it keeps posting this instead. What the heck?

    [Reply: I’m keeping one copy in… because I liked it :-) -E.M.Smith ]

    Some excellent choices. Thank you all.

    Very apropos, the “Don’t Stand So Close to Me” one.

    Which reminds, Neil Diamond did another version of Sweet Caroline with the touching hands part modified. Hands, washing hands, reaching out, don’t touch me, I won’t touch you … Sweet Caroline … . I don’t have a link at hand, though.

    @Sera:

    Most likely you are having a failed “copy” step, so it pastes the prior thing copied. I get that sometimes writing articles. The way to catch it is to look at the last end bit of what you are trying to copy, then after the paste, check it is the same.

    Why just the tail? The head ends are all the same ( like “https://youtube…”) and the whole thing is a bit long to remember. But remembering things like …”zr45″ are not so hard and close to unique.

    @M.Simon:

    That was fun! Violinist with built in percussion section…

    But how in heck do you play violin while stomping, leaping, and tap dancing? That’s one coordinated person.

  7. philjourdan says:

    @CD – I saw that. It was great! But then I am a Neil Diamond fan. When vinyl was king, I had all his records. I hate RIAA and MPAA

    I’ve been promoting this one:

    It’s a real hoot!

  9. Another Ian says:

    Another one in trouble

    “I am sad to report that, apparently, John Prine is in critical condition due to Covid.
    John has had his share of health issues over recent years, but was still willing to grab his guitar and play his iconic Americana songs, right up until this year, but no longer.
    You can check the web for his family’s statements on this sad situation.
    Hello in there, John old brother….hello.”
