Not only that, It’s New Years Eve Down Under! Party On!
The Tucker
We had Australian lamb loin chops, stood on the bone end in a cast iron skillet, surrounded by potato fingers (about 1 cm x 1 cm x length of spud). Into a 375 F oven for 25 minutes. Side vegetable of canned green beans.
The starter was a “Salad Of Two Lettuces”. Equal parts butter lettuce and iceberg. Bit of shredded cheese on top, and Olive Garden Creamy Italian dressing.
For desert, Butter Pecan Ice Cream!
The Wine
A Barramuni Pinot Noir from 2019. This has a slight Burgundy like flavor drunk solo (and I’m not fond of Burgundy), but add a bit of cheese, some chocolate, or lamb; and it settles down to a very nice wine. It just needs some food to find it’s place.
The News
A new year is coming. I hope that the world realizes it is time to toss off the petty tyrants, China Proxy Politician, and power mad flunkies; and get on with living life normally. We’ll see.
Omicron may be their undoing. So far it seems to grant immunity without a lot of health risks or damage.
May the next year be better than the last.
Musings from the Chiefio 
Happy New Year from the north of Down Under.
Our tucker is beef patties (rissoles) handmade with onion, grated carrots, breadcrumbs, egg seasoned with mixed herbs and mexican flavors. Verges are mash potatoes, peas and sweet potato chips done in the air fryer. If I’m lucky my lovely wife will do a gravy as well.
Oh, and buckle up for 2022, it’s going to be a doozy.
For those Down Under, I’m not sure that getting a head start on 2022 is exactly 1st Prize, given the pestilence of GEBs that we are suffering.
But hope for the best and plan for the worst, and make sure part of the plan is to make sure the GEBs get the short end of the stick.
