How’s Tha’ Trucker Mandate Going, Eh?

Rebel News has a good series on the Canadian Trucker Strike. Being Canadian, they focus on the Canada side of the border, but have several videos up showing the event. They even have a reporting team embedded in with the convoy and drone overflight video.

They do a little bit of begging due to the whole cancel real news thing from the left, but other than that, it’s a good show (and you don’t have to suffer through all those Google Ads!)

So last night I was watching them on the Roku (via the Rumble or Odysee ap) and it was eye opening. They reported on the TWO sets of truckers, unclear if one is starting in the West, the other starting in the East or if it is 2 starting from B.C., and how they were going to meet in the middle, then each keep on going.

The number of truckers involved is huge. As in “that’s gonna leave a mark” huge. Now just figure that to the extent a Truck and Trucker are in this event, they are not delivering the goods on time to somewhere else. This will be felt fairly fast. There is one guy in one video who says he’s not vaccinated, but is delivering “medical supplies”, and appreciates the irony of it ;-) So some of the trucks may just be “slow rolling” their delivery elsewhere along the route.

With that, here’s some selected links to them and their coverage.

The web site (link in top line) has embedded videos too, but also some text format for those not interested in lip reading ;-)

First, a general intro and a sample of the text versions available on their web site:

THE EZRA LEVANT SHOW

The truckers convoy is the biggest news story in Canada — because it’s doing what no politician or judge had the courage to do

January 24, 2022 | News Analysis

I bet you’ve seen this in an email or on social media:

Freedom Convoy 2022

That links to a gofundme campaign so I’ll put some of it here:

Delta BC Rollout Jan 23

To our Fellow Canadians, the time for political over reach is over. Our current government is implementing rules and mandates that are destroying the foundation of our businesses, industries and livelihoods. Canadians have been integral to the fabric of humanity in many ways that have shaped the planet.

We are a peaceful country that has helped protect nations across the globe from tyrannical governments who oppressed their people, and now it seems it is happening here. We are taking our fight to the doorsteps of our Federal Government and demanding that they cease all mandates against its people. Small businesses are being destroyed, homes are being destroyed, and people are being mistreated and denied fundamental necessities to survive. It’s our duty as Canadians to put an end to this mandates. It is imperative that this happens because if we don’t our country will no longer be the country we have come to love. We are doing this for our future Generations and to regain our lives back.

We are asking for Donations to help with the costs of fuel first, and hopefully food and lodgings to help ease the pressures of this arduous task.

It’s a small price to pay for our freedoms. We thank you all for your Donations and know that you are helping reshape this once beautiful country back to the way it was.

In order for your generous donations to flow smoothly, the good people at Go Fund Me will be sending donations directly to our bulk fuel supplier and are working out the details now which means your hard earned money is going to straight to who it was meant for and need not flow through anyone else. Any left over donations will be donated to a credible Veterans organization which will be chosen by the donors.

**Money raised will be dispersed to our Truckers to aid them with the cost of the journey**
**Funds will be spent to help cover the cost of fuel for our Truckers first and foremost, will be used to assist with food if needed and contribute to shelter if needed**

Wonder how long before that gets a Cancel Attack…

Back at the main story (bolding done by me):

It’s a crowdfunding campaign on GoFundMe to raise money for the convoy of trucks across Canada, converging in Ottawa, to protest Trudeau’s bizarre and unscientific and destructive and punitive vaccine mandate for truckers.

Last I checked this morning, the GoFundMe had raised more than $3 million. That’s incredible — that’s got to be one of the largest crowdfunds in Canadian history.

Now at over $$4,400,000 CAD and growing. That’s one heck of a lot of Pissed Off Canadians.

The convoy is actually a series of convoys from different parts of the country, converging in Ottawa in about a week or so. The purpose is to protest Trudeau’s bizarre requirement that truckers — perhaps the most solitary profession, alone in their trucks all day — be forced to get a vaccine or to lose their ability to work. It’s punitive; it’s not about public health; it’s about attacking small businessmen and entrepreneurs, which many truckers are. They are free spirits, independent, I’m guessing there aren’t a lot of Trudeau voters in the trucking community — just a hunch.

Besides the obvious point that there is no public health rationale here, there’s the small matter of the supply chain.

I see that Jason Kenney is tweeting about supply chain issues. That’s a utilitarian reason — we need them to work for us.

And here, watch a reporter repeatedly try to ask Erin O’Toole to comment on the convoy:

Erin O’Toole is the conservative party leader. This is en embedded “tweet” so I’m not going to embed it here. He basically ducks dodges and doesn’t answer just spouting talking points and pushing “get vaccinated”.

I think the reporter who was asking him questions was this guy, Glen McGregor. Here’s a tweet he did yesterday.

Tweet from GoFundMe saying they will sit on the money until assured it will be distributed appropriately. For the full text hit the link.

And he shows a response that the crowdfunding website GoFundMe gave him — he obviously was asking them if they were going to cut off the truckers; and it sounds like they were working with the truckers to ensure that everything was compliant.

Say, do you think that’s real journalism? Or is that mob cancel culture?

And I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Trudeau’s disgraced hatchet man, Gerald Butts, has done a dozen tweets attacking the convoy.

Text from the embedded “tweet”:

Gerald Butts
@gmbutts
An Alberta separatist has collected almost a million bucks on a GoFundMe page to “support” trucker protests. Where will the money go? 🤷‍♂️

The murky matter of protests and the donations that drive them – Truck News

Then back at the main article:

All the institutions that could be bought off — all the media, all the truckers associations, all the politicians — they’re not in control of this anymore, are they?
And they took on a very independent-minded group of Canadians — truckers — didn’t they?

And this thing has just started, it has a week to go, and it’s already mustering thousands, tens of thousands of people along the way, isn’t it? And the money that’s been raised — that’s a barometer of how much people care, isn’t it? None of that money has actually been released to the organizers yet; I think it will be, but it might never be; but the hugeness of that number shows how much people want this protest. And it should shame every so-called check and balance in our system who has failed this past two years.

I’m very proud of the fact that we’re embedded in this convoy — two of our journalists, Mocha and a young reporter named Selene. And we have reporters covering it in other cities too.

We’ll show you what’s really happening — not just the smears by Gerald Butts and the rest of the disgraced bought-off media.

Stay with us for more on this.

GUESTS: Sheila Gunn Reid (follow @SheilaGunnReid on Twitter) and Adam Soos (follow @ATSoos on Twitter) join Ezra to talk about the convoy’s Calgary stop.

So there’s your overview. I’m not going to reproduce their whole collection of articles here, just pointing you to their site where you can find the rest.

I will embed links to their Canadian Trucker videos so folks don’t need to go rummaging around themselves on Alt-Tube sites.

In more or less chronological order:

This one says it is a “Live Stream” presently just playing music and saying that coverage begins in about 25 minutes. In fact you need to click on the progress bar and move to the 25 minute mark to get to the recorded video. About 1 hour 44 minutes in total (where most of the others are about 8 to 10 minutes) so be advised it’s a long one.

UPDATE: At about 1 hour 8 minutes they say they are shutting down the YouTube feed and anyone wanting the uncensored rest of the show can go to the alternative platforms. Nice stick in the eye of EwTube, that. From that point on you have a MUCH more open and engaging discussion of issues as they talk Truth and without worry about EwTube Mandates…

This one points out the Big Protest happens the 29th. Also points out this is going to wake up a lot of folks to what “Supply Chain” means ;-) It is prior to the “kick off” of the Truckers and is just “2 talking reporters” explaining what the impact will be.

Rebel LIVE: What’s happening with all of the truckers?
Rebel News Published January 24, 2022 2,218 Views

The first “On The Ground” report from the Convoy. Waiting for the trucks to arrive from Edmonton at a truck stop. Interviews with support groups that have shown up. These folks are P.O’d at the Political Crap. It takes a lot to piss off a Canadian… I think someone has crossed a line that can not be uncrossed…

At just shy of the 4 minute mark, you get a scan / pan of the food depot, outside meal service they set up.

https://rumble.com/vt7heu-pastor-artur-joins-crowd-of-truck-convoy-supporters-at-calgary-stop.html

Not the Truckers, but the restaurants that Truckers depend on:

In French, but with English subtitles. Says it is a ‘Trailer”. Looks like Restaurateurs are gearing up for a protest starting 30 January. This video ends with a “EwTube won’ts let us show the rest – go to Rebel News for all of it” yet the Rebel News link just comes back to the same video. Down in the text it points to the second link below:

https://www.bitchute.com/video/5NlMzkWaRQ4/

https://www.rebelnews.com/le_snack_branche_owner_offers_support_to_restaurants_suffering_under_quebecs_covid_decrees

Interesting… swapping between Bitchute & Rumble, the Rumble videos start with a commercial, Bitchute does not…

First 2 minutes is mostly one reporter with a few embedded B-roll things. Then at about 2 min 30 sec it has a Trucker report and cuts to video of the “Send Off” at the starting point. At 3:20 it shows the TWO convoy groups just in British Columbia that are starting out, to meet up along the way in Calgary. On the 26th the truckers intend to park in front of the Parliament building, so watch that space. The embedded image says 29 January and the Trucker being interviewed said they were not leaving until the mandates are removed as in the U.K.

Who knew “The Revolution” would begin in Canada… At 6 minutes you see crowds gathered in the cold, along roads, on overpasses, showing support. I think Turdough has stepped in it hard this time…

https://rumble.com/vt7u8r-trucker-freedom-convoy-recap-day-1-british-columbia-to-calgary.html

Day Two. Near Edmonton and the truck convoy is to arrive, but the place is already full of supporters. This one has the interview with the PureBlood Trucker hauling medical supplies.:

https://www.bitchute.com/video/bra9ug8kylY/

Despite the rain, snow and cold weather, supporters remained enthusiastic, with many people giving away hot food, treats and personalized notes of encouragement for the truckers.

Also has a “full report here” link that looks to have both video and a text version under it:

https://www.rebelnews.com/freedom_convoy_greeted_by_2000_supporters_as_trucks_roll_into_edmonton

Sunday night at Husky truckstop in the Acheson Industrial Park, a half an hour west of Edmonton, hundreds of trucks were met by thousands of supporters of the convoy winding its way to Ottawa in opposition to the federally-imposed COVID-19 vaccine mandate on cross-border truckers.

Thousands of people piled into the truck stop parking lot and lined the road holding signs of support in a show of solidarity.

The convoy began the day early in British Columbia and finished the night in Calgary, Alberta after the truckers were plagued by delays along the route caused by Ministry of Transportation inspections at weigh scales.

The anticipated 5:30 p.m. arrival in Edmonton was delayed by at least two hours, though supporters, despite the rain, snow and cold weather remained enthusiastic, with many people giving away hot food, treats and personalized notes of encouragement for the truckers.

The size of the convoy and the public’s interest in it is becoming hard for the mainstream media to ignore, but they will try. Sunday night, mainstream media was on the scene — although masked, alone outside, and perched in the ditch away from the convoy rally.

Were I in Canada, I’d be driving right along with them to the capitol.

This one is a motivational speech to the Truckers. “Everyone is Essential”. “It’s time for the Lions to start eating those Hyenas”.

I trust polls about as much as I trust democrats.

That being said, how the average Cannuck (or Ozian) has rolled over with some of the worst excesses of government abuse leaves me wondering how much support they have with the average citizen? Clearly not enough care about their rights as they allow the storm troopers to trample anyone’s rights – imprisoning pastors for preaching, or locking up innocents in concentration camps.

I wish this trucker strike was going to make a difference. But as long as they continue to lock up folks for just living, I do not see it going anywhere. Europe has a better outlook at this point than the old British Commonwealth.

  2. E.M.Smith says:

    @Phil:

So far, yes, but with Britain dumping the Vexxine Mandates I’d not be surprised to see Canada doing it to. Also, remember that 1/2 the country is (or was) French… Australia is another matter as they had a lot of Jailers along with the rebellious convicts…

FWIW: In that long 1 hour + video at about the 1:08:00 time stamp they announce they are shutting down the YouTube feed and anyone wanting to hear the rest of the show can swap over to the other platforms. Then what follows is about 1/2 hour of “hair down” open discussion with some biting commentary ;-) i.e. the real show ;-)

I’m going to add an update to the posting about that time mark.

The question is “Why?” ( I suspect mostly “why people came out in the cold for support” but I answered both that, and why the GEBs are being GEBs just now.)

  5. YMMV says:

    media blackout – check
“if you’re not with us, you’re a terrorist” – check
“vaccines are the only tool” – check
    “it’s only a few right-wing fringe” – check

That Trudeau is still in power shows the disadvantage of having too many political parties.
It there are three parties, the winner only needs 33% support. What you have in Canada is evidently an elected monarch.

GEB is Greedy Evil Bastard or Globalist Evil Bastard depending on context, and as often the case the GEB in question is both.

  9. YMMV says:

If you do Google GEB, this is what you get: (kids, it’s safe to do this at home)
Geb was the Egyptian god of the earth and a mythological member of the Ennead of Heliopolis. He could also be considered a father of snakes. It was believed in ancient Egypt that Geb’s laughter created earthquakes and that he allowed crops to grow.

Mass Migration is caused by things being so bad at home you Have to leave. And the perceived lure of the other place makes it very attractive.
At present Mexico is a hell for many people and the US is heaven. Nothing new, Mexico has been an organized Hell since the time of the late Maya civilization. A fine example of bureaucrats and criminals working hand in hand to rob the many for the benefit of the few..a cultural problem. Americans tend to be open, friendly and generous towards Others…also a cultural problem. Honor and trust and a helping hand towards Others is an Anglo defect. Nearly all societies treat their own with honor and respect, but, Others are prey to be exploited. Anglos have this built in urge to treat all, even Others, with Fair Play. Kind of makes them targets, as well admired.
Americans have created a heaven out of a waste land in the last 200 years. Now the GEB are attempting to turn it into a new hell just as they have done elsewhere. To do this they need ignorant people that Community Organizers can isolate and manipulate to gain political power. The American melting pot is being broken up into Ghettos of special interests that only work together only through orders from their Organizers…

    Then next 2 are also P.G. 29 Feb 2016:

The lifting of Regulation after WWII is the cause of the economic boom of the 1950s and 60s. Economic Freedom FROM Regulation is the cure for the present malaise. A simple solution that has always worked is Economic Chaos. No matter how well educated the Elites become, they can not match the ability of the people to match, effort with needs. The real need for regulation is to prevent GEBs attempts to manipulate the rules to benefit themselves at the expense of everyone else…pg

It would appear to me that the coming election will be a choice between a Democratic “Regulator in Chief” and a GEB (Greedy Evil Bastard) for the Republicans. Not a choice that I would prefer but, Trump might be a good foil for the reduction of regulator overreach. “The Beast” is part of the transition to the new age. The era of reduced economic activity is not at an end yet. This time we must establish the meme that heavy Regulation is the cause of stagnation and not the solution to it. Reduce the foot print of Bureaucratic control and you reduce the overhead of government and it’s taxation needs while you increase wealth creation for everyone…pg

We then jump 2 more years to PG:

Beth has done the work of categorizing and recording some of the connections of this hydra as well as publishing her work. The WWW is the most wonderful tool to bypass the GEB control over media. The people will win over these mendacious schemers but it will take time to expose them into the general conscious…pg

And we finally get the first use of GEB meaning Globalist Evil Bastard by someone other than PG:

It looks like the GEB (Globalist Evil Bastards) are getting antsy and starting to go to a full court press defense of their schemes.
The UK is suddenly going completely over the edge on free speech as well as Australia (shut down the Lauren Southern and Stefan Molyneux events).

We have known some of those “outside” organizations were shills but it seems that they are not engaging in the usual quiet development and multiple layers of misdirection that they used to, and now they are slapping these things together with only minimal separation from the organizations they are shilling for.

Then HR uses it in 2018, as do I. There’s 43 instances on the page of comments from the W.O.O.D of 26 July to the W.O.O.D. of 9 April 2019 (and postings in between) so I’m going to stop quoting them here…

My first use in a posting is :
    Link: https://chiefio.wordpress.com/2018/07/25/is-every-global-organization-corrupt/

FWIW, I advocate for the need for Rich People in a society for 2 reasons. First off, you need investment and the Marginal Propensity To Invest is high for the Rich, while it is negative for the very poor who eat their seed corn. You really MUST have someone rich enough to invest in an economy or you decay into poverty. Second, I think that those who worked to save their money deserve to use it as they desire, in general. Once you start to “soak the rich” you get less rich and then begin the decay into poverty.

Opposed to that is the Evil Bastard problem. Or GEB Greedy Evil Bastard as P.G. likes to abbreviate them. This is why we have anti-trust laws and break up monopolies.

Now between those two we have an interesting question: Is there some size of Rich that is just too-Rich to be controlled by laws? In particular, when the GEB is not a person, but is a corporation, and is bigger than most countries of the world, and spans the Globe and buys politicians in all countries where it operates: Is THAT a Rich Too Far? What about a collective of them buying governents and setting up their own WTO Courts? Buying treaties that strip national power to set law and move it to their preferred venue?

Looking at the world today, I would have to say yes.

So clearly P.G. was using it 3 years before I picked it up, and IMHO, absent evidence to the contrary, P.G. ought to be credited with creating it in 2015. (or perhaps even earlier before posting it here).

Trudeau has weaponized police forces against the peaceful trucker convoy.

Trudeau himself has made an excuse to hide from the media for five days — he’s triple-vaxxed and had a negative Covid test, but he’s hiding.

He’ll let his cops block democracy. That’s how Castro does it.

IIRC the 29th was the target date to reach Ottawa. So inside Ontario and closing in on the parliament.

    Sparkle Socks is Justin Trudeau.
    Here’s just one example.

I believe he wore sparkly socks in one of his meetings with President Trump. He also has a thing (still the style with metrosexuals?) of wearing brown leather shoes with blue dress pants.

  20. E.M.Smith says:

    @H.R.:

    Oh. Now another thing I can’t Un-See…

FWIW, I wear black socks with black leather dress shoes when doing business stuff.

My Dress Pants are all either black or dark blue. My dress shirts mostly in the White-grey-blue range, but one or two odd ones are tan or have a pattern.

Pretty much any combination will work that way.

Guess I’m not a Clothes Horse nor “metrosexual”…

(When not wearing business clothes, I have one pair of brown pants, and white panter overalls., or wear my worn out “business clothes” from the above list).

IMHO, any man wearing “sparkle socks” or things like in that photo is a child who has not grown up and learned to be serious.

  21. YMMV says:

“a child who has not grown up”

nail on head. And not just because of the socks.

  22. H.R. says:

    Truck Fudeau, eh?

They can use the cops to bully the truckers, stop the convoys and maybe even keep some streets clear, but they can’t make them haul freight. They can use their influence to keep it out of the media, but they can’t cover up the supply problems. The govt seems to have missed that the convoy is only the tip of the iceberg, the maskirovka.

  26. rhoda klapp says:

GB News finally has the convoy story. This is the non-establishment news channel in the UK, and the excellent Patrick Christys has opinions on Trudeau which you wouldn’t hear on the MSM. I’ll post a link once they put it on YT.

I’ll throw some more ‘misinformation’ out there. I’ve had two Covid encounters, both either mitigated, or eliminated, through the use of the ivermectin drench (either that, or I am a lucky immune)

I don’t do the ivermectin on a regular basis, just when I feel I may have been exposed.

My first significant Covid encounter came when my vaccinated daughter caught the virus and brought it home 6 months ago. I was a little paranoid so I made her sit on the other end of the couch for the first two days. It took her a few weeks for her sense of smell to come back (which I assume meant full recovery).

Monday morning a call from the owner of the building I use for office space now (shared kitchen, conference, bathroom, etc. They are coming into my office all the time asking hows & what ifs. I am literally looking over their shoulders at their computer screens to give them direction/help. Everybody (4 of them) got it & felt it Friday & Saturday. I did the drench Monday morning.

I haven’t experienced any significant symptoms; Ivermectin seems to work. It really sucks that the system does not provide (and actively restricts) the people medicine.

  31. philjourdan says:

@H.R. – just saw a better one (on the WatchMega site) – Truck Trudeau

  32. E.M.Smith says:

    @DonM:

Probably better to call it “pour on” instead of “drench”. While it is proper to call it either, the word “drench” has a specific jargon use among sheep farmers as something poured into the mouth, where the “Cattle Pour On” is mostly rubbing alcohol and not for swallowing.

Welcome to English where the same word can have to antagonistic meanings… Sigh.

  36. E.M.Smith says:

Looks like the Mini-GEB Turdough has decided to try shutting the bridges to keep the trucks out. Looks to me like they’ve got enough trucks to just circle the whole town… Shut down ALL access in and out…

    https://www.rebelnews.com/trudeau_liberals_partially_closes_bridge_to_ottawa_due_to_planned_protest_this_weekend

It’s pretty much One Giant Tell that these creeps want to SILENCE all communications, including the visuals of all the trucks. So, OK, in that case, just park all the rigs at the bridges and wait until they are reopened. Don’t worry, the rest of us can deliver food and such… “We’ll wait”.

  38. E.M.Smith says:

Want to know what it looks like on the streets of Ottawa tonight?

Streets in “polite” grid lock (i.e. they kept an emergency lane open and intersections are mostly clear but can be closed if desired) and trucks everywhere.

Now realize this is the night BEFORE the “convoy” arrives ;-)

Looks like closing those bridges isn’t stopping anyone…

Also I noticed in yesterday’s videos that at least one flatbed had porta-potties on it. Add in the “support folks” who are hauling food and setting up mobile food centers and it’s well thought out. BUT, tonight I realized another thing. There’s a fair number of RV embedded. Plus, a whole lot of those trucks have “Sleeper Cabs”. Now I don’t know if Sleeper Cabs have a toilet in them, but I do know they have beds, TV, cooking facilities, heaters, fridge with water, etc.

Now figure they are normally run for days (weeks?) on end off of the Truck Diesel / Generator…

I wonder if Trudoh! and friends realize these folks will not be getting cold, hungry, or in need of outside support to just sit there for days. They can (will?) be warm, sleeping in their own bed as desired, watching TV / listening to radio, having “home cooked meals” (to the extent of their ability), etc. etc.

RVs and Sleeper Cabs are largely self contained Tiny Homes…

I’d bet that TPTB figured a couple of nights in the cold and it will all be over. I think they need to think again… I’d guess it is more like a week to 2 weeks before folks need to start rotating out to a “Dump Station” and water refill. Longer for fuel issues as they are just at idle for heat & light. Food can be brought in by relay teams (as, really, could fuel and water). But I’ve lived in my car for a week driving across country. It isn’t hard. If they don’t run ‘water flush’ in the RV toilets but just let it drain to the black water tank… well, 30 gallons is a lot of pee…

It will be very interesting watching what happens Monday Morning and then after the 5 day “isolation” of the Premier’s Pram…

  39. philjourdan says:

The bouncing up and down (due to the guy walking) got a bit hypnotic. But it was worth watching the whole video!

  40. E.M.Smith says:

“middle of nowhere” kind of place… all the overpasses (to view the Convoy) were full, so a farmer used his tractor to plough a clear path next to the freeway for folks with 4×4 trucks or tractors to have a place where they could show support for the passing trucks.

Yeah, that kind of “fringe minority”… In farm country like this, the population density is so low that the folks lining up to show support are going to represent close to everyone within 10 miles of the freeway (maybe even further).

Folks out in the snow and cold. This isn’t exactly spring picnic weather…

  41. E.M.Smith says:

Pulling into the Antrim Truck Stop in Amprior Ontario

I think these folks are getting plenty of support…

  42. p.g.sharrow says:

This will not inconvenience Trudoe much. But this lock down of the Trucking Fleet will have dire costs to the country even into the US. Fuel and food supplies for the general population are cut off! If this lasts a week, It is already 3 days old, Store shelves will become bare for weeks! The outcry from the citizens will become desperation. This government will fall. A revolution carried out with vehicles and not guns. I wonder just how long can the MSM continue to ignore this.

The congestion in west coast ports is a tiny fore taste of what will be happening acrossed North America. Wise people best plan on massive disruption in their supply chain as this spreads. This will be a long cold winter indeed…pg

  43. philjourdan says:

@p.g. – We have already started planning. Unfortunately out of necessity as we are seeing shortages so when we find what we want or need, we overbuy. That will merely accelerate now.

  44. p.g.sharrow says:

@philjourdan; you have that right! We have been preparing for this for over a year, as best we can. Have lots of trade goods as well, as the bankers crash the money system. Those “Educated Elite”, don’t realize just how brittle civilization is. You just can’t untie your small part to redo it without causing a rapid unraveling of everything connected to it.
Prep time is over, now survival is at hand. ..pg .

  45. E.M.Smith says:

    @Per “Prep”:

Unfortunately, I’m about 2 to 3 months from where I wanted to be. Why? 2 dogs at EOL, then spouse needing surgery. We were supposed to be in Florida and settled in already.

I do have a “landing spot” in Florida, and Florida Friend and I have a means of “getting by” (via the boat and fishing for food if necessary, bugging out to islands if forced). But most of my gear is still in California. I also was using up “prepper stocks” for “the move” that didn’t happen, so there’s that.

So kind of a “worst possible time” for me.

That said: I do have the tow vehicle in hand, and can buy a trailer “next day” if I needed to. If “shelter in place”, the garden is available along with the seed archive, all paid off and enough fiat Cash in the bank to pay any bills presented for years even with lots of inflation (though not hyper… but I’m pretty sure I know how to protect against that).

As long as fuel is available across the south and / or planes are still flying, we can escape to Florida even on short notice. Not comfortably at all, but doable.

With all that said: After about a month stuck here with no resupply, we would be on the “last ditch beans & rice & vitamin pills” diet for the next 4 to 5 months. Supplemented only by greens from the garden. Not horrible, but not ideal either. Not the 5 to 6 months of “stuff we like”, though.

But we are straddling two States. Sigh.

I’d hoped by now to be settled in to an “owned clear” home in Florida, all material goods in place, and working on Florida gardening skills. (Florida has a Homestead Act where, if you file, your home can not be taken from you. Not by creditors nor the State for taxes. That and garden pretty much makes things survivable. Add fish for protein and “good to go” really.) I think I can still be there in another 2 to 3 months, but don’t know if things will hang on that long. It’s a crap shoot as to how fast things will move. Brittle Failure is hard to predict…

Or the GEBs might realize the Jig Is Up and fold, figuring to come back another day. (I don’t expect that. I think they see Biden as their one shot to lock things up.) But “we’ll see”.

Worst case is I rush out, buy the biggest trailer I can find, load all I can, put spouse on a plane, and head east. Could do all that in 2 days lead time. But would need to leave a lot of (somewhat irrelevant… IMHO) material goods behind. Furniture and such. Again, doable but not idea. (Physical Therapy is not yet far enough along for a 5 hour flight to be comfortable, but it would be doable. Another month it ought to be comfortable enough too. So watching the news and the clock and deciding plans day-to-day.) So far “putting it off” has been an OK choice.

But with the Canadian Truckers raising the stakes, and the election coming here, I just have this feeling like stuff is accelerating. No data on that, just a subconscious integration… (i.e. “my gut”).

    Oh Well.

FWIW, I’m hoping to be in Florida again last week of February, starting the actual move process in earnest. Getting a large storage unit, doing “trailer runs”, renting a spot for the Spouse (or just finding a hotel for her). I’d like to be all done mid-March. Just an empty house “on the market” left in California. Then again, that’s what I wanted about a year ago (and 2 years ago, and 4 years ago,…)

  46. p.g.sharrow says:

A long move is as bad as a fire, believe me, I have done both. Move only the things you can not replace. Most of those things you have lovingly packed and moved will never get out of their boxes. Just move money and replace the other things as needed. Your most valuable buried asset is your house. deal with getting that wealth into hand should be your prime concern. Moving and storage of things, not really important, is not something that is profitable to you.

  49. E.M.Smith says:

    @P.G.:

I’ve figure out the cost / cu.ft. and things that don’t meet that don’t go (unless irreplaceable). I’m also planning to move in “priority order” with smallest most valuable first, biggest least valuable last (so box of photos, computer disks & archives and financials and such go first, furniture very last).

Whenever I get tired of it, or “the balloon goes up”, then I’m done. Hand keys to realtor and say “send check”. (Already have a potential buyer lined up).

I think I can get “all the really valuable” in one trailer / run, the “can’t really replace it” (my library of books… many no longer available) and “important but not essential” (tools & computer collection) in a second. Then worry about things like the bed & dressers & desks. (Sofa and recliners will be bought new. Likely also washer, dryer, fridge, etc. etc.). We’d like to keep the desks as we are used to them, but it is optional. Ditto the dresser & bed. But if they don’t make it, I don’t care.

Clothes? Mine fit in a big suitcase. I plan to winnow out the worn, which is likely about 3/4, and replace as needed. Spouse has a few more but similar. Call it 2 suit cases.

Depending on how big a trailer I get, I might be able to get it down to 1 trip. We’ll see. I’m planning on 2 +/- as needed. Good News is that a I’ve packed a bunch of stuff in boxes, the volume is less than I’d thought it would be. Books, for example. About 1/2 the volume of “books in book cases” and not real interested in the bookcases…

FWIW, I’ve moved a few companies over the years. Yeah, Director of I.T. & Facilities… And then “Shut-downs” where I had to clear the left over stuff from bankrupt companies in the shutdown process. So moving one family is a lot easier ;-) (Ever move and set up 200 computer workstations, telephones, desks & such? It’s sucky!) But you do get good at it after a while.

Shutting down a building for Ericsson we ended up with one of those roll around giant tub carts FULL of pens, pencils, staples, staplers, etc. etc. All the detritus of the modern office. Managed to save a few boxes for a local school, but still dumped a load. (Even one $40 or so fountain pen that I was tempted to keep, but already had a few. What people leave in their desks when laid-off…)

Oh Well. Is what it is.

I’ve moved “just me” coast to coast 1/2 dozen times now. (Life on the road as a contractor….). Unfortunately, this has resulted in my having 2 or 3 of things like “Small size slow cooker” and “rice cooker” as I’d fly in, get a hotel, and buy one. Then on a fly home, drive my car back to not have rental car costs. When laid off, load the car and drive it all home. So some pruning of that stuff is in order ;-) (I usually would travel with 3 days clothes, then buy 2 more if hired. It has roughly matched my wearing out rate, but now I’m down to just barely 3 days worth of pants and socks & shorts. Maybe 1/2 dozen shirts. Been a while since I had a remote contract ;-)

I just want to get the whole process actually started. “This time for sure”!… I can clear the house in 2 days into local storage and dumpster, if needed. (It is, after all, rather small…) BUT I need that starting gun to go off… and NOT have some “surprise” shut it down this time.

Oh Well, is what it is.

    Per “Snipers”:

One of the often overlooked reasons to put Police “snipers” on rooftops is simply to deny that space to “Bad Guy Snipers”. It prevents evil Bad Guys from either snipping innocents OR doing a False Flag shooting of counter demonstrators.

Also, should some Nut Job decide to do a “mass shooting” from inside the crowd, the police sniper can drop them after the first shot or two, instead of 20 to 30…

    http://www.smalldeadanimals.com/2022/01/31/breaking-12/

  59. E.M.Smith says:

What “twinkle toes / sparkle socks” and his minions seem to have missed it that it is NOT that the truckers are blocking things up that matters. It is that they are not hauling a load…

All they need to do is sit. Anywhere. In Ottawa. On the freeway. At a Truck Stop. At home.

If they are not rolling, they are winning.

Ottawa runs out of gasoline, food, Chinese Plastic Crap, everything.

He can run away and hide and it makes no difference.

The RCMP can drive truckers away from the border crossing and it makes no difference.

They can open all the inspection stations, close bridges, have cops pull truckers over, issue edicts: and it makes no difference.

Not rolling means no goods arrive means cities dry up, go dark and hungry, and halt. (Water purification depends on delivery of water treatment supplies… Power plants depend on supplies of coal and other materials.). First food. Then transport grinds to a halt. Then water. Then darkness and cold. And all the truckers need to do is “nothing”.

Folks in rural areas are far more self reliant with far more “stores” and natural resources at their disposal. The cities will be well and done screwed before folks in the outlying areas are having problems. Furthermore, I’m pretty sure the folks in Alberta will be doing nicely with improvised delivery of things like local beef, wheat, etc.

I grew up in a rural town. We had beef from 2 miles away, slaughtered at the ranch and butchered at the shop next door to our restaurant. Hauled in my Dad’s F350 Pickup Truck. Corn on the cob, radishes, carrots, tomatoes and more from the garden in the back yard. (Why I have my garden…) Fish from local waters. Eggs from 3 miles the other way out of town. Water from a 14 foot well in the back yard for the garden. (Nitrates a bit high for drinking, but great for growing!)

When you get up with the sun, you don’t really need electricity. I helped my Dad wire our house, but he grew up on a farm without electricity. I can easily live without it now. Annoyed at the lack of internet, but not much else is an issue. But if you live in an 20 story apartment building in downtown? 20 flights of stairs, no A/C or heat, no water pumps, no flush toilet. Um, “good luck with that”…

    All from doing nothing.

  60. H.R. says:

@E.M. – Good summary; the truckers most effective protest is to do nothing.

I believe we discussed much the same here on your blog, but it was in relation to the Blue cities, the GEBs in blue cities, and D.C. in particular. Not so much about ‘vaccines’ and ‘vaccine’ passports. I think we were all a bit pizzed at the stolen election at the time.

It was early and long ago that we (here) suggested that all that was needed to bring the Blue States, cities, and governors to their knees was for the truckers to stop delivering, either blockade or just stop.

Thing is it’s many, many thousands of truckers and some are corporate, and some are indies. How to coordinate all that?

Canada showed the way. Their truckers just said, “The time is now, and we have to figure out a way to do it.”

p.g. linked to info that the Canadian trucker effort is spreading Worldwide. The secondary big-ticket values to come from the Canadian trucker protest are a) We can do it and b) here’s how it’s done.

That’s leadership and the Canucks have opened the floodgates. Good on them.

Oh. I’m seeing bits here and there that the trucker organizers are very, very media savvy (the YSM is completely against them and will, lie, lie, lie) and also well, well, aware that false flags will be raised against them.

The CBC and GEBs are gonna lose this one. Once you’ve seen the strings on the puppets, you can’t unsee them.

  61. YMMV says:

@another ian, that’s good, so I’ll give it a try.

However, I’m not optimistic, because the MSM is for Der Führer clicks its heels and says Jawohl!
This example shows the rhetoric used.
    https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2022/1/31/canada-trudeau-denounces-anti-vaccine-trucker-protests
Basically, “they are all right-wing racists hurting us, so don’t pay any attention to them”.
If the media can get photos of one such person they can claim the whole thing is like that
(even if that person is a plant).

But any government which forces people to take experimental “medicines” against their will even when they are known to be immune already (etc) is fascist. Pretty bizarre when the vaccine which is mandated doesn’t protect anybody but maybe the person getting it.

“You understand that there is a link between Reuters and Pfizer?”
Didn’t know, but I am not surprised. Ownership and advertising, Pfizer is everywhere.
And they have a criminal record.

The marktaliano link is interesting in another way. I thought Rogan was put in the cancel culture crosshairs because he let Malone speak about IVM. But Malone brought up the Pfizer links.
Maybe that is what all the fuss is about, the backroom Great Reset dealings being revealed.

Regarding vaccine mandates, Dr. John Campbell has a good new video about how health care is supposed to be specific to individuals, not the one-size-fits-all “health care” that simple politicians can understand. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eK83QqbNOmU

To help politicians understand, here is a simple one-size-fits-all remedy.
All politicians can catch foot-in-mouth disease. Therefore, all politicians should be vaccinated for Anthrax. No exceptions. (note, don’t look for the logic; this is an example of how politicians think)

  67. YMMV says:

@another ian, That Japanese company press release seems to be a Reuters exclusive. Lots of echoes, but no others that I have found, in English anyway. Which is a bit odd. As if someone at Reuters broke the news without knowing that the subject was taboo. So it needed to be updated. Looks like an own-goal to me.

My comment on Reuters and Pfizer went to moderation. Did WordPress filter it because it revealed the Great Reset, or was there some other trigger word?

Neil Young and free speech. Does anyone know if back in the original Free Speech movement there was any particular content they felt was censored or was it for free speech in general. Civil RIghts, Vietnam War, or other anti-establishment complaints. At that point was it a demand for “our” free speech, or for everyone’s free speech. The old liberal principle attributed to Voltaire and believed essential to democracy.

Because now, for sure, it is an anti-free speech movement. Suppress all wrong-thought. And democracy isn’t wanted anymore.

Video at 2:35. “This is the last line of defense. They are going after Spotify because as long as it is there, they can’t plug the leak in their story. If there is one place where Joe Rogan can distribute his podcast they cannot maintain their garbage narrative. With all the dissents and their platforms silenced it will be a very different world.

Video at 7:55 Being on the right side of history. It’s hard to tell at any moment what the right side of history will be. But it’s easy to tell the wrong side of history — it is the side imposing censorship.

Video at 9:08 Tweet from Chelsea Clinton tweeting that Spotify and Substack should not allow dissidents to profit from misinformation. She “was born into great power. This is power shouting down truth.” Justin Trudeau is the Canadian Chelsea Clinton.

    @YMMV:

No idea why. Often I have no idea why. I’d guess maybe someone didn’t like the Dr. John Campbell truth videos and maybe that’s what got “voted off the island”. Maybe it’s having Reuters & Pfizer in the same sentence ;-)

    Maybe it’s the Anthrax word.

Nothing in my filter set. (Which is almost entirely the F-Bomb and a couple of Troll names).

    Well, the video got through:

And your IP address and such are the same so not them. I’m running out of ideas…

    Per Spotify & Joe:

Joe does not need Spotify. He’s got enough money now he can easily build out his own server farm to offer his stuff all by himself. (I’ve set up web site infrastructure for several companies. It’s pretty darned easy and will fit in a bedroom.

Pete’s Coffee was one where we added a 2nd ISP for them. The whole company was served from one server room about the size of a bedroom. Dual ISPs, a transfer router (boundary router & multiple IP # handed out as needed) to route traffic to either one to the right servers. ONE Rack (i.e. hall closet sized rack) with that and the company “switch ports” for a few hundred folks, plus dual PC rack mount servers. As a PC can run Gigabit Ethernet, unless you have more than a Gigabit demand you don’t need big iron. Every Pete’s coffee shop globally placed their coffee orders through that gear to HQ.

Oh, and a couple of I.T. guys so you have 24 x 7 support… Or just someone on call all the time.

The ISPs ought to have a load of “cache servers” so as live video is fed out, it gets multiple caches throughout their network and the bandwidth gets multiplied. That’s SOP for big carriers.

All up ought to be doable for well under $50,000 even with outrageously over spec equipment and labor.

Oh, and since Spotify entered a contract with him for $100 Million, it’s likely they would have to buy that out to drop him… So he’s have LOTS of money to fund the build out…

Trucker Convoy has made it to the news in India:

  72. YMMV says:

Always best to get news from an unbiased source. This Indian one is pretty good. She makes two mistakes. The protest is not anti-vaxxers it is anti-mandate. And she says that the vaccines are your best bet against the Wuhan virus. We could update her on that.

The problem is finding unbiased sources for anything related to Covid. No thanks to all the politicians who promote divisiveness, fear, and hatred. So this next video is Dr. Been talking about the hatred and pressure he has come under. Despite all that, this video is more about love and sharing and learning together and avoiding trying to push others in his own direction. It’s practically unique on the internet. I would give him a human being of the Covid years award.

These pathetic attempts at J-6ing are not working with wide swaths of an increasingly international audience—though they maintain their hold in the echo chambers of Canadian official opinion.
